30 years, 30 displays, $300,000: SciTech in Aurora ready to 'take that next step'

SciTech moved to its present location at 18 W. Benton St. in downtown Aurora in 1990, and has been through numerous renovations over the years, including the Outdoor Science Park developed in 2000 by Ronin Mir and a mezzanine and auditorium added in 2004.

30 years, 30 displays, $300,000: SciTech in Aurora ready to 'take that next step'
As SciTech prepares to kick off its 30th anniversary next week, it would be fair to say Aurora's "Hands-on Science and Technology Museum for Children" has seen dramatic changes since its humble beginnings in 1988. It's also fair to say it's not even the same place it was back when I last visited it just a couple years ago.

Time to reset on Lombard library plan

The library was given a tremendous opportunity to build a state of the art facility whether within the clearly known constraints of their current Maple Street site or at three nearby options (if only they would pull the trigger) at Lombard Common, 101 S. Main, or the old Z's property.
