Hinsdale homeowners concerned about noise and light from Land Rover dealership

Owners of the dealership, now at 300 E. Ogden Ave., want to move to a larger site to abide by its automakers' instructions to expand its showroom and stock more vehicles. They found the site of the former General Motors training center, next door at 336 E. Ogden, would suit their needs.

    Residents who live near the Land Rover Hinsdale dealership's new site urged the Hinsdale Village Board to take a closer look at the sound study and light plan the business submitted. They argue the dealership is asking for much brighter lights than are needed in the parking lot and are skimping on a fence that will act as a barrier between the dealership and their homes.

Second Naperville dry cleaners held up; sixth armed robbery since Nov. 27

One day later, officers responded to an armed robbery at a 7-Eleven store at Route 59 and Diehl Road. On Dec. 7, a PNC Bank branch at 9 E. Ogden Ave. was robbed by a man who implied he had a weapon.

In addition to those two cases, two people were held up Nov. 27 by an armed man at a Chase Bank ATM in the 1200 block of Hobson Road. About an hour later, a pizza delivery driver was approached by an armed man in the 3300 block of South Route 59.
