The fatal attack happened shortly before 11:15 a.m. Saturday in the 1300 block of West 110th Place in the Far South Side’s Morgan Park neighborhood.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the younger man as Jamon Harris of the 10900 block of South Racine Avenue.
In the city’s latest shooting, a 24-year-old man was shot in the finger around 4 a.m. Sunday in the 7300 block of South Halsted Street in the South Side’s Englewood neighborhood, police said. The man told police he heard a gunshot while walking down the street, but later became uncooperative.
On the West Side, a 33-year-old man was shot in the leg around 1:35 a.m. during an attempted robbery in the 5700 block of West Huron Street in the South Austin neighborhood, police said.
Around 6:40 p.m. Saturday, a 29-year-old man was shot in the leg in the 1800 block of South Western Avenue in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side. He took himself to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, police said.
Another man was shot shortly before 6 p.m. in the 800 block of East 76th Street in the Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side.
Two more people were shot about 4 p.m. in the 2400 block of South Albany Avenue in the Little Village neighborhood, police said.
Earlier, a 13-year-old boy was shot around 1:45 p.m. in the 2000 block of West 52nd Place in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side, said Officer Thomas Sweeney, a Chicago police spokesman.
