    Statement from milo
"TOUR NEWS: Both my events in Chicago and Kansas City have been cancelled by the venue after pressure from far-left activists. Saying that I am disappointed is as much of an understatement as saying Amy Schumer is sexually unappealing. Both venues were made fully aware of who the speaker was, contrary to their public statements, from the very beginning. Both signed contracts with us to proceed.

Nevertheless, the losers of the Left have once again successfully used threats of violence to shut down speech they disagree with, depriving Americans of the chance to see who they want to see and enjoy what they want to enjoy. (Me!)

    It was bad enough when the Left acted like scolds but now they unashamedly act like thugs. I will, in any case, fight on, and my team is hard at work seeking new venues where I can entertain and interact with you, my fans. Stand by for more updates. In the meantime, refunds for tickets are available at the point of purchase and refunds for VIP upgrades are available at dangerous.com/boutique.";

  • I had heard ticketfly was not issuing refunds. Glad to see he is. This kept from buying a ticket early. Patio is notorious for cancelling and then not issuing refunds.

A pretty legit complaint to address on a yelp review btw.

Flooded basement

I have about 12 inches of water in my basement from the recent storm that needs to be pumped out. Can anyone recommend someone honest and reliable?

  • @DebbieM, glad to hear the basement will be cleaned up correctly. It's something we take for granted sometimes, a dry basement over the lifetime of home ownership.

  • AS50, yes, I always thought a pool would be nice but not this way.

    Huddie,

I, for one, will try the new place. I don't often drink but it seems that I always want a Margarita when I eat Mexican food! I liked the beef because there was something just a little tastier about it and am disappointed it's gone. I love your burgers, too, and will check out the new table service.

I have to smile at all the "wishes" that people express, not only for your new restaurant, but also about what they'd like to see at Six Corners or in Portage Park in general. I wish was I was 25 and rich but . . . I appreciate what it takes to make a business a success and I thank you for your continued interest in (y)our neighborhood.

Sharing again, now 2 dogs found together....let's get them home.

  • Yes there are tnr colonies which help in the rodent problems.Yes they are fed and have shelter but I'm sure the life span of an out door cat is shortened . Ideal life would be an indoor cat who's life span can be 20.

  • "on average, cats who are allowed to roam outdoors often don't live to see age five. Cats who are always kept safely confined can live to be 18 to 20 years old."

Indoor cats live more than twice as long as outdoor cats!

Huge Protest Planned For Milo Yiannopoulos' Patio Theater Show

CHICAGO — More than 300 people were signed up by Friday afternoon to meet alt-right provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos with chants and pickets signs when he arrives for a scheduled speaking event at Patio Theater, 6008 W. Irving Park Road, next month.

But Melissa Basilone, who co-owns four businesses in the 6000 block of Irving Park Road with her husband Joe, said the theater operators were "shooting themselves in the foot" with their controversial decision.

The Basilones offered to host protesters at their Perkolator Cafe, 6032 W. Irving Park Road, posting in the event page that "Hate has no home in the Irving Austin Business District, period."

Electrician Recommendations For Installing Cable Wires in Walls?

Hey Everyone,

I am buying a condo that has cable wired for the living room and the master bedroom. However, I want to move the cable hookup to the opposite wall in the living room and add a hookup to the spare bedroom.

Any suggestions/recommendations for electricians in the area who can do this type of work? I know Comcast would run the wires, but they won't run them through walls so that is out.

Also, anyone have experiences with this and roughly how much it cost? All answers appreciated.

Thanks!

BREAKING NEWS!!! FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE...

From the Office of Mayor Wrong E. Manual

As a result of an intensive 10 year study from the University of Chicargo, the city council has voted for the immediate removal of all automobiles, vans, trucks or similar devices from within the city. The study clearly shows that 100% of all accidents involving injury to pedestrians and motorists or their passengers are associated with self powered motorized conveyances. Therefore, the only sound remedy is the removal of all such machines from our community.

Effective on December 1, 2017, any person possessing or operating an automobile, van, truck or similar device within the city limits will be arrested on felony one charges of willful pubic endangerment under the new municipal code (under home rule exception). There will be no second chance.

New transportation permits will be available for single or multiple horse, mule or bicycle drawn carriages at a rate varying from $50-200 per year. There will be an additional fine for failure to remove animal feces on the roadway of $50 per incident.

Because of their ability to exceed new speed limits of 10 MPH, genetically engineered transportation animals are forbidden and if suspected, a DNA sample will be taken. If found in violation, an additional fine of $1,000.

For those citizens requiring handicapped exemptions, rickshaw allowances may be granted upon full vetting and approval. Prevailing applicants must demonstrate they cannot walk from the corner of State and Madison to clerk's desk at city hall without having a heart attack or stroke.

Regardless of conveyance form, a city sticker priced at $500 per year will still be required for each axle of a conveyance.

Existing boot and impoundment ordinances will remain in force as modified for the new forms of conveyances.

Stay tuned for more details... LOL!

I believe former slumlord had a ton of code violations that where tied up in court and never corrected and then home was foreclosed. Now it sits there as an eyesore. Hoping some developer buys it up and turns it into a nice rehab.

Incident in alley@ 10:20 pm

In the alley between Roscoe in Henderson an SUV with at least two guys in it and one guy walking with a girl his arms around her I heard the girl screaming called 911 the cops came the SUV went down through the alley it's a dead end and I seen the guys jump out of the car, and jump a fence by the train tracks, does anyone know what happened?

  • Checked the scanner. Call came in around 10:20 for battery in progress in the alley 4300 block of Roscoe. When cops showed up everyone was gone

Cicero Pedestrian Islands GONE?

After installing the pedestrian islands on Cicero south of Irving, and then installing signage, they all appear to be leveled and paved over today. What gives? They weren't the most attractive islands, but they were useful. And how wasteful of time, resources, and money to remove them after only a month or so? What gives?

  • So that means they are going to dig up the street right before winter and leave it in poor condition until the spring.
