Lights reported out.....Near 5800 Natchez

Has any one else reported been out since 10/14/17

  • 5600 block of Kenneth Cindy. Marty is my alderman.

  • Cindy G Good neighbor

Our lights are working this evening on 58th, Natchez and Neenah.

Frank, I know Marty is pretty good about getting things done in a timely manner, so maybe the problem on Kenneth is something more serious or complicated than usual. You and your neighbors should keep calling it in though -- squeaky wheels and all that. Good luck!

Private driveway ordinance???

I always thought there was a city law against unauthorized public parking in the space directly in front of an entrance/exit to a private home's driveway ( i.e. blocking access to it by the homeowners and household's visitors
own vehicles).

I always thought there was a city law against unauthorized public parking in the space directly in front of an entrance/exit to a private home's driveway ( i.e. blocking access to it by the homeowners and household's visitors
own vehicles).

That is happening more than I can ever remember, in front of my residence and I want to put a stop to it. Before I copy the license plate number and turn it over to the police for ticketing (and or towing), I want to inform any new people on the block of my intent so they have fair advance warning. Therefore, I would like to know the exact city ordinance (if there is one). I have looked, but cannot locate anything.

If anyone out there knows, I would be obliged if the ordinance was posted here. You would think common sense and neighborly courtesy would be enough, but even "neighbors" these days don't often do the right thing....

Thanks for any assistance in locating such an ordinance.

  • We have a situation in the neighborhood, There is a mechanic shop owner, that is using the street to park vehicles for repair and also repaired vehicles, because of this sometimes is hard to find parking on the street, what can we do?. Being unsuccessful with the 16 ward alderman about this issue. We need your comments.
    Thank you

  • Javier we had this issue brought up at our CAPS meeting. They did ticket the cars, and returned the person repairing the vehicles to the city. It is still on going but getting better. So try going to your CAPS meeting. Good luck!

Newcommer

New to area by homan and 16th how is this area?

  • Tina James Part of Economic Development Team

Be careful at night; be sure your kids don't walk alone anywhere and try to find other families trying to raise their kids well too - there are lots, they are just being careful like you, so they are a bit harder to find. Once you are connected it makes this new neighborhood easier to call home and to stay safe. Hope the kids enjoy their first day of school!
