Appliance movers?

We need to move some appliances (stove, fridge, washer and dryer) up and down stairs within our home. Any recommendations? I couldn't tell if Dolly did appliances (looked like regular home moves and furniture) and most moving companies have a $ or 2.5 hour minimum, which I don't think it should take. The fridge is too big and the doors will have to be removed.

Letts' electrifying 'The Minutes' gets stellar premiere at Steppenwolf

Letts' electrifying 'The Minutes' gets stellar premiere at Steppenwolf
Imagine you're an upright, upstanding, stand-up standard-bearer living in a small town in flyover country. Maybe you've got a family you want to protect. Maybe you have a cause -- civil rights, the environment, fiscal responsibility -- to advance. So you run for city council. You win. You go to work.

The Minutes at Steppenwolf Is a Satire of Small Town Politics—and a Modern Morality Play

The Minutes runs 100 minutes and continues at Steppenwolf Theatre, 1650 N. Halsted, through January 7. Performances are Tuesday-Sunday. Buy tickets for $20-$105 online or by calling 312-335-1650.

The Minutes at Steppenwolf Is a Satire of Small Town Politics-and a Modern Morality Play
Steppenwolf Theatre's world premiere of The Minutes by Tracy Letts takes place during a small town city council meeting. It's a satire of small-town politics, individual grievances and so much more. Viewed totally, it's an example of theater at its best. Entertaining, thought-provoking, puzzling, conversation-starting. Steppenwolf bills it as a comedy and the opening night...

In Tracy Letts' 'The Minutes,' a town council moves for blood

Where: Steppenwolf Theatre, 1650 N. Halsted St.

In Tracy Letts' 'The Minutes,' a town council moves for blood
In the moist, all-American burg of Big Cherry - the setting for the new Tracy Letts play "The Minutes" - the rambling and esoteric agenda of the town council is filled with the patter of parking and pepper jelly, softball fields and suppers at the Kiwanis.

Possible revenue stream for Chicago?

At 5:30 a.m. cars on Lake Shore Drive travel at an average of about 65 MPH, and some are going 80 MPH. I believe the speed limit is 40 MPH to protect the roads, so why not install speed cameras to enforce the limit? Or if the high rate of speed isn’t bad for the roads, raise the speed limit so it isn’t so much of a joke.

Red light cameras would not improve safety on LSD instead it would increase rear end collisions.
This is why we have studies. In the hopes that people bother reading them before posting uniformed opinions.

The world is littered with adaptations of the tale of Orpheus and Eurydice, but the Greek myth is just a seed for the creator-directors of Rooming House, Julia Rhoads of Lucky Plush Productions and Leslie Buxbaum Danzig, a cofounder of 500 Clown.

In Wonder, a deformed child isn't the only flawed character
August Pullman, the ten-year-old boy at the center of Stephen Chbosky's Wonder, is severely deformed: the bridge of his nose reaches to his forehead in a straight line, the corners of his eyes are pulled down in a perpetual sob, his cheeks are traced by scars, and withered ears peek out from under his long hair.

Robert Charlesworth has an ambitious goal and a year from this Veterans Day to achieve it. He needs an artist or two who can work with steel and glass; a prominent, expansive public lawn on which to plant poppies that the artists fabricate; the generosity of Pittsburgh corporations to provide materials; and donors to help him raise $1 million for veterans' charities by the Nov.

  • British International School of Chicago, Lincoln Park reviewed by a parent

We've had two children go through the British School LP campus for a number of years. If your child falls within the normal range of most children they will do fine here. If you suspect your child has any sort of learning challenges I can't recommend enough that you stay far far away. They do ok with LD support and have a lovely team of people in place to help with this. Unfortunately they are all pretty young and not terribly good at identifying key issues early enough and effectively communicating this to the parents. Then, at least for us, we got the feeling is some kind of pressure to keep telling the parents not to worry, things will be fine, so they can keep the child enrolled in the school. No way to prove it obviously that was just the sense we got. Then the real drawback is they do literally no standardized testing so there is no real way to gauge your child's progress. This may be part of the British philosophy, but we found it close to impossible to really assess how they are doing. A lot of friends transferred out to LAB, Parker, Latin etc for this reason. PROS: Lovely teachers, very bright if a bit young, top-notch facilities, great location, very very strong music and arts programs, not too difficult to get in, good amount of after school programs. CONS: no standardized testing, no strong skills on identifying children with learning support needs, homework seemed inappropriate for age group at times, grading system constantly changing, administration changes frequent, seems like a lot more students transfer out that in. overall it's a good environment but couldn't get past the constantly changing homework, grading policies and administration staff.
