How's Chicago supposed to desegregate when developments with affordable housing can be blocked by aldermen on a whim?
Luxury apartment buildings in Chicago are built typically in neighborhoods with no shortage of well-to-do renters or in working-class parts of town where they serve as a vehicle for gentrification.

  • Affordable housing wasn't blocked by the alderman but by the developer. He opted out of providing the units and is paying the fine instead. I saw the document on Twitter. "Neighbors for Affordable Housing" activists went to City Hall yesterday to confront Napolitano but were escorted out. Napolitano's chief of staff published the ordinance:

The title should be How's Chicago supposed to desegregate if developers opt out of providing units? This reporter is sloppy.

When did representing what your constituents want become a "whim" anyway? These progressives seem to think that they are the only voice that should be heard. The reporters are obviously biased against conservatives and Napolitano. Nothing good would come of him meeting with the slacktivists, they'd only twist what he says.

School Transportation

Hello,
I am in search of someone to pick up my daughter from preschool at 2:30pm daily, and drop her off at her nearby in-home daycare. She attends Beard Elementary in Norwood Park, andrhe daycare is in Edison Park. The trip is under ten minutes and I am willing to pay. If anyone has any suggestions, I’d love to connect.

Thank you!!!

  • Sam

2 questions

Hi Neighbors
I was wondering if anyone knows when Cozy Restuarant will open on Harlem at the location where Sally's use to be -seems like they have been working on for about a hear -you would think there would be not much of a transition ?
Second -there is a plot of land next to Marriott on Higgins that looks like there tore down entire building -are they rebuilding something there or perhaps trying to add on to Marriott? Live in the area and want to keep up with what's going on in the hood.
Thanks for any info you can provide.
