Broadway Bank space

It looks like something is moving into the Broadway Bank building. Does anyone know what’s happening there?

  • If you look at the posts on their Facebook page (linked above), they seem to have been working on turning the bank building into an event space since the end of 2015 (nearly two years), so it is not likely related to the event space on Ridge.

  • I really appreciate for including this topic.this is such a very good topic and interesting informations.i really like to read this article.i got a lot of informations from this article.i hope you include more post.thank you. http://www.ozoneinsuria.com/

Best Place to Advertise an Apartment for Rent?

it used to be the best way was to have a sign on the door - LOL - old skool and the Reader.

Then it was a Craig's List

Now there are all kinds of places- Domu, RadPad, Zillow, blah blah

For those that looked for apartments recently - how did you find places? Do you think it is generational?

  • The best way is still old school. We put the for rent in front and it generates more calls than any other method. Nice to know this hasn’t changed.

  • Catherine NO!

I didn't bother with The Reader since most of the ads were from giant companies who also post prolifically on Craigslist. Plus, there's no way to see photos.

When putting up a "For Rent" sign, please attach basic info, like the number of beds/bath, if pets are allowed, start date for the lease, and rent price. I really don't understand why landlords with only a few units don't include this info on their signs. It's not like these details are that negotiable and it'd save landlords the trouble of fielding calls from renters looking for something different.

New Public Art Gallery & Venue on Granville Avenue and Winthrop

It's really cool to see that someone who has the means, support a neighborhood they believe so much in versus hoarding their cash or investing it elsewhere. Not sure if others heard about the new venue that Rae Ann and her husband developed and instituted in the neighborhood recently.

http://www.edgewaterartists.com/gallery-1070.html

Granville area is really becoming a great part of the Edgewater Neighborhood to live in. It's because of YOU, me and people like the Rae Ann (hope I am not messing up her name). You create your environment, your reality.

Excited to continue to build a great place to live with all of you.

Carpet Cleaning Recommendations Needed, Cat Urine Stain

Hi all,

My cat (the one in my profile photo) has been peeing on my low pile carpet and the staining is present on the reverse/bottom side. The carpet is 6ft by 5ft 9in. Hi all,

My cat (the one in my profile photo) has been peeing on my low pile carpet and the staining is present on the reverse/bottom side. The carpet is 6ft by 5ft 9in. I'm not sure of the material, but I'm guessing synthetic. I'm a renter, but the carpet was bought by the previous tenant, so it's technically mine. I'd rather get the carpet professionally cleaned than have to buy a new one. I don't care if the color changes, I just need a way to protect the wood floors and get the odor removed. I've already tried cleaning it by hand, but given the heavy staining on the reverse/bottom size, I'm concerned it'll eventually disintegrate and maybe stain the wood flooring.

Can someone please recommend an inexpensive place to get my small low pile carpet professionally cleaned in Edgewater? Can I take it to a regular dry cleaner or no? This is my first time having to do this.

Thanks!

(My cat is medically fine. He's recently been to the vet.)

My initial post was over a year ago. I resolved the issue then.

In case someone else runs into the same problem, this is how I successfully dealt with it.

    1) My cat had recently been to the vet who said he was medically healthy.
    2) I got a spray bottle of "Nature's Miracle 3in1" and heavily sprayed the carpet, following the directions on the bottle.
    3) I got a very large clear thick painter's tarp and folded it up to fit the carpet. I then duct taped it to the underside of the carpet to prevent any moisture from going through the carpet.
    4) I moved my furniture around, so that the spot my cat was peeing in would be blocked, in case his scent was still there. The areas around the litterbox are now also blocked, so none of the wood floor is exposed. (The litterbox is wedged in a corner with an additional tray to catch kitty litter as he exits the litterbox.)
    5) I also created additional barriers to keep my dog from getting to the litter boxes around my apt. I'm guessing that my dog's litterbox intrusions are what caused the problems in the first place. As disgusting as it is, it's common for dogs to want to eat cat feces. One theory is that cats pass a lot of protein into their feces, and that's why dogs want to eat them. Dogs are scavengers. And yes, my dog regularly goes to the vet for his annual exam and shots and is medically healthy.

  • Get a pheremone spray. Our cat did this a few times on our door frame when he got a whiff of another cat next door. We sprayed this stuff on the doorframe called No Mark that I got at Pet Co next to Jewel and it works SO WELL. He is like an entirely different cat now. It relaxes them and takes away their urge to spray and go outside the box.

I believe the surface lot just west of Sheridan on Southside of Foster leases parking. It's close, but not technically Margate Park.
