The Chicago Fund for Safe and Peaceful Communities has awarded AWOFINC a 2018 grant, one of 132 rapid-response grants to support activities that promote safe and peaceful conditions in 19 prioritized Chicago communities. AWOFINC's Parent Information & Resources, Violence Prevention Consortium and Youth Leadership & Development initiatives seek to identify and establish Community-Based Participatory Partnerships with groups and organizations. The consortium will be actively engaging multiple communities. This spring summer and fall the Violence Prevention Consortium Safe Spaces Initiative will be working with local organizations and churches in Auburn Gresham, Englewood, Gage Park and Back of the Yards helping those organizations plan and execute activities and initiatives.
