Minutes earlier, shortly after 10:40 p.m. in East Hyde Park, three people were shot and a fourth person cut by broken glass in the 1600 block of East 53rd Street.

About 10:05 p.m. in West Englewood, someone in a gangway shot a 21-year-old man walking on the sidewalk in the 7100 block of South Seeley Avenue, hitting him in the chest, back and leg, police said. He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition.

About five minutes earlier in Logan Square, an 18-year-old man was shot in the nose in the 1700 block of North Fairfield Avenue. He was outside about 10 p.m. when someone inside a passing vehicle shot him, police said. The man was taken to Saint Mary Hospital, where he was in good condition.

The Chicago Fund for Safe and Peaceful Communities has awarded AWOFINC a 2018 grant, one of 132 rapid-response grants to support activities that promote safe and peaceful conditions in 19 prioritized Chicago communities. AWOFINC's Parent Information & Resources, Violence Prevention Consortium and Youth Leadership & Development initiatives seek to identify and establish Community-Based Participatory Partnerships with groups and organizations. The consortium will be actively engaging multiple communities. Find out how you can participate in Leadership Training, Community Engagement, Violence Prevention initiatives as well as youth programs by contacting our office or send a message to any of our cooperating initiatives Facebook pages. This spring summer and fall the Violence Prevention Consortium Safe Spaces Initiative will be working with local organizations and churches in Auburn Gresham, Englewood, Gage Park and Back of the Yards helping those organizations plan and execute activities and initiatives.     This school only focus on Behavior. Their system is not good for young students it s really ridiculous how they only focus on behavior and not academics. I would not recommend this school the middle school in particular.
