Mount Carmel gets an 'F' for way it handled Frank Lenti's exit

I've covered dozens of high school coaching hirings and firings. Nothing compares to the ongoing soap opera at 6410 S. Dante Ave.

PARKS YEAR IN REVIEW 2017

Dr. Bryon Brazier, pastor of Apostolic Church of God, 6320 S. Dorchester Ave., and Pastor Torrey Barrett of the K.L.E.O Center and executive pastor of Life Center Church of God in Christ, 5500 South Indiana Ave., are working together to guide the organization.

Proposed plans also include the Jackson Park Fieldhouse, 6401 S. Stony Island Ave., and show it renovated in its present location, rebuilt and moved to 63rd Street, or renovated and expanded in its current position to include a new gymnasium.

New pedestrian crossings and underpasses will be added including one at 67th Street and South Shore Drive.

The plans were presented as if the Obama Presidential Center were to be built in its present location along Stony Island and 59th Street, but versions of the plans did not include proposed merger of two community golf courses.

In one instance a proposed new location for the Jackson Bark would be near the Iowa Building, which is located near the intersection of South Everett Avenue and 56th Street, and another plan places the dog park near the Inner Harbor, 6400 S. Lake Shore Dr.

The bridge, which is in Jackson Park located at the rear of the Museum of Science and Industry (MSI) 5700 S. Lake Shore Dr., has been closed since 2015.

To make improvements at Bixler Playlot Park, 1372 E. 57th St., the PAC needed to have a non-profit fiscal status to raise donations or have funds, which the HPKCC will provide for the Bixler PAC per their agreement.

Of the three plans McCurry said the most attractive option is to have a brand new field house built at 63rd Street and Cornell Drive. Currently, for children to access the field house have they have to cross at 64th Street and Stony Island Avenue.

Can politicians resolve the issues of the middle, lower, and subclasses, when their political future is dependent on the monetary contributions of the super rich? I think not. The one percenters, the super rich, are playing a mean game of trickle down economy (give the super rich and corporations tax breaks and they will create jobs for the middle and lower classes). This was made popular by the Regan administration. It didn't work then and it won't work now. The rich will simply bank their tax saving and send it to off shore accounts to avoid any future taxes and the corporations will give addition value to their stock holders by stock buybacks and increased dividends. This will widen the gap between the has and have-nots. Unfortunately, we are living in a time where one who has political aspirations on a mayoral, state wide or national scale has to dependent on the contributions from the mega rich or be independently wealthy. I don't profess to know the answer. I do know we have to voice our displeasure with the current direction this country is going on what ever platform is at our disposal.

  • Phill Lucille, give me strength.

Check this video! Would liberals support the Republican tax bill if they thought it was really a Bernie Sanders proposal??? Watch and find out

  • Ms Dee resident

Keep an eye on your pockets! What is working? What is not? Where can improvement be made? This is still new. We won't see the tax bill effects until 2019-2020.

President Clinton left the office with a surplus. The market crashed under the administration of President Bush. It was rising slowly under President Obama.

I'm not siding with political parties. We need to find out the "what" that made the economy work for us. The "why" it worked and how to keep it working.
