Police: Three in custody after crashing stolen car, foot chase

The car then took off from police before crashing into another vehicle in the 6700 block of South Cornell Avenue, police said.

The two adults arrested were identified by police as Alexander Payne, 25, and Devin Reed, 18. The third was a 16-year-old boy who was taken to Comer Children’s hospital with minor injuries, police said. All three were arrested around 8:42 p.m. in the 1600 block of East Marquette Road.

Police responded to a person-with-a-gun call in the 6700 block of South Chappel Avenue around 8:30 p.m., where they saw a man in an alley hop into a Lexus with three others inside.

No weapons were recovered from the scene, police said, but the Lexus had been reported stolen earlier in the day from the 6900 block of North Monon Avenue.
