Airplane noise?

what flew over hyde park five minutes ago?

  • I_want_to_know In search of solutions!

Your message does not automatically get stamped with a time so please I think it would help if the time was added to your post. I have always lived close to trains and buildings that make loud noises so I can tune certain noises out.
What did that noise you heard sound like? Helicopter, plane or that Osprey aircraft.

  • I have noticed a VERY loud plane flying close overhead this weekend and last. The noise is so awful, I thought it would crash. Never actually saw it tho.

  • SW

I assume you are talking about what you heard at around noon. Yesterday it was helicopters flying over the Bears game in celebration of Veterans's Day before the game started. I saw the helicopters on TV. Nothing to worry about.

On 53rd street the problem is just drivers don't acknowledge pedestrians and turn at high speeds turn South on Lake Park. I would like for Police to set up sting operations and ticked the very dangerous cars. I feel pedestrians who have to dodge these murderous speeding cars are within their rights to throw objects at the cars.

  • I_want_to_know In search of solutions!

Would you want a Camera positioned at each of those intersections?
I am sure our current mayor would love that!
It could record cars violating the rights of pedestrians and issue either warnings or tickets. I have seen near misses of cars hitting pedestrians when turning but I have also seen pedestrians walk against the lights. I think pedestrians deserve tickets also when they almost cause accidents!
More warning signs might also help drivers be more cautious!
    Be careful out there.

  • Hyde Park is just too @#$% overcrowded. And it's going to get worse. PERIOD!!!

400 Teens Rage In Hyde Park As Mayor Emanuel Watches From Restaurant

Two more boys likely face more serious charges after a University of Chicago police officer was punched in his face while trying to break up a fight at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday night at 53rd Street and Lake Park Avenue.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel took in some of the mayhem when he unexpectedly showed up around 7 p.m. to eat dinner at A10, 1462 E. 53rd St.

His appearance added energy to the restless crowd, which set a fire in a dumpster behind the BP gas station at 5130 S. Lake Park Ave.

At 8:30 p.m. Tuesday a U. of C. student was robbed in the 5400 block of South Cornell Avenue by a person with a handgun that jumped out of a gray car. Another U...

400 Teens Rage In Hyde Park As Mayor Emanuel Watches From Restaurant
HYDE PARK - Hundreds of teens gathered in Hyde Park to party as Mayor Rahm Emanuel looked on and Barack Obama's motorcade pressed through the crowds. Nearly 400 teens came out Tuesday night in a much toned down repeat of last year's "Halloween Purge," where more than 1,000 kids from across the city came to party and hang out and in the process get into fights and tear up parts of the neighborhood.

Jeffrey Littleton the "wilding" incident you referenced was of course a very infamous incident, but was by no means the only incident of "wilding".

My roommate was attacked by a mob of very young teens on the lower East Side near Thompkin's Square Park.

The teens you reference were yes, released from prison by a legal maneuver that had one of assault, robbery, attempted murder and gang rape perps confess to doing all these crimes himself - which was impossible. He was already in prison serving a long sentence for some other crimes, thus he had nothing to lose by this false confession.

And the Central Park jogger that was gang raped and beaten nearly to death was one of many other victims who were beaten and robbed by this mob.

Here in our Hyde Park Chicago community we've had 2 straight years of Halloween wilding mobs doing something renamed a "purge" - it's involved some beatings and many robberies with a mixture of local Kenwood students and teens from other neighborhoods.

Some Chicago crime blogs are writing that these outside neighborhood mobs of teens are doing these crimes in Boystown as weekend recreation. At least with Hyde Park it's only been once a year on Halloween night.
