Just finally moved into the neighborhood and noticed the park. It looks beautiful, but overall is it a safe place to go walking/are there better times of the day to go?
I moved from the Portage Park neighborhood and frequented Portage Park itself so was just wondering how it compared to that.
Thanks in advance for any responses!

They are here. If you have a small dog, don't leave them unattended. If you walk a big dog be prepared and have some form of defense. Since I believe it's a couple. Now those of you that will freak out, DON'T. I had them on video back on October. They are great,. Great rodent eliminators. God knows we need that here. This neighborhood is infested. Anywhere near Jeff Terminal is REALLY bad. Just be alert, and if you see...

Anywhere near Jeff Terminal is REALLY bad. Just be alert, and if you see one, make noise, yell at them. They will run the other way. Just an FYI. I watched them for over an hour or two around 6 pm Tonite in my alley. Working on my car. They don't want to be around people. So, respect them and rodent problem will be a thing of the past. They can hang in my alley all they want. I welcome them, we need them people, so don't get crazy. Just watch your small animals, as you should in the first place.

I was shocked when I lifted the blankets and expected or hoped to see a neighborhood cat but screamed when I saw the possum. He didn't even run away. I told him it was ok for him to stay there and put the blankets back over him. I guess I am glad animals are doing what they can to stay warm. Too scared to go back out there and take a photo

Free family event at SFB. You will hear stories from around the world, do a craft, buy a book at the Scholastic Book Fair, and have a hot dog on us. We ask that you either call to let us know how many will be attending or register with this web site: http://tinyurl.com/yatxvh5b
We look forward to seeing you there as we "Travel Around the World".
Visit us on Wednesday, January 31, 8:30 - 11:30 AM. See our teachers and students engaged in their lessons with use of technology e.g. computers, Promethean Boards, or iPads.
We are so proud of all our students’ academic accomplishments, and we invite your child to grow in knowledge and confidence as a member of the SFB family.
Please call for a personal tour if you are unable to attend an open house. Your child is also invited to shadow. This gives your child the opportunity to get acquainted with his or her future classmates and the school.
Join us for the 10:30 AM Mass on Sunday, January 28, and Open House starting at 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM. Visit with our loving and caring faculty and see our beautiful campus. Some parents will be available to share their wonderful experiences they have had at SFB. Student demonstrations will be going on throughout the school to show their use of technology or projects. During the open house 8th graders are having a bake sale and our Scholastic Book Fair will be opened.
