I live on a block where we have many 2 or three flats and very few one family homes. There is one house with 5 cars that when someone takes off with their car they move another up to hold parking space. If two cars leave they move another effectively holding 4 parking spaces. I think of myself as a nice guy so I really dont care MOST of the time. It does get out of hand when I have to park around the block every day. What can I do? I dont like my wife returning in the dark and have to park a half block or so away knowing there should be 2 to 3 more spaces.

Did you forget your scooter?

Hey neighbors! As of 6am this morning, Leland (west of Western) is being repaved. There's a sad, lonely, little black scooter that was left on the street between Western and Artesian. Sadly, he was lying on the street last night as it appeared someone backed into him and took off. The construction workers were kind enough to pick up the sad scooter and move him onto the sidewalk this morning, and now it appears someone moved him off the sidewalk. Just wanted to see if the owner wanted to put him somewhere safer... With all the 'No Parking' signs constantly going up, who can keep track?!

Many on this forum talk about litigating, be it for some unneighborly thing or other. Well, here is your chance to read the behind the scenes workings of the Chicago Way in its entirety (link below - get some popcorn and settle in) and VOTE.

This is the culmination of 7 years of attorney fees and a waste of our taxpayer-funded court's time/resources, in my opinion, of course.

When it rains the whole intersection , including 3 feet up the sidewalk (sloped) is a lake. Here's what they have to say about what coyotes eat--and it's not pets or garbage: "Some people believe that urban coyotes primarily eat garbage and pets. Although coyotes are predators, they are also opportunistic feeders and shift their diets to take advantage of the most available prey. Coyotes are generally scavengers and predators of small prey but can shift to large prey occasionally. Researcher Paul Morey analyzed scat (fecal matter) contents at different locations within our study area. After investigating 1,429 scats, he found that diet items varied across space and time, which reflects the flexible food habits of coyotes.

The most common food items were small rodents (42%), fruit (23%), deer (22%), and rabbit (18%). (Scats often have more than one diet item; therefore, frequencies do not necessarily add up to 100%). Apparently, the majority of coyotes in our study area do not, in fact, rely on pets or garbage for their diets."

Thank you Jill H. All very interesting information. I would expect an urban animal would have to shift their diet in order to survive. So because of that, It would be hard to predict what they will be hungry for on any given day. I myself won't be taking any chances that it wouldn't come after my animal. Doesn't mean I'm not taking my dog out in the neighborhood, I just won't let her in our yard unsupervised and if I see one again I will turn around and go the other way again. Love my dog too much to take chances.

Let me add to the comments. Howard has done various projects for me in the past quite satisfactorily, BUT sometimes he wouldn't show and came up with lame excuses for not showing. The last occurrence happened this past spring when he took an outdoor light fixture and some paint I had purchased home with him. We agreed that these outside chores could be done at his convenience even if I wasn't home. He never did the work, and in June I emailed Robin and was told he was out of town for a family emergency, had injured his hand, and was getting x-rays. I'd heard similar excuses before and decided I'd been patient enough and asked to have the items returned to me; I even said I'd pick them up when it became apparent they would not be returned voluntarily, which was in fact the case. In the end, I wrote the whole thing off and lost his number, went out and bought the items again and hired someone else to do the work.

Hello. And no this isn't a viral letter about us leaving Chicago.....yet.

So we are now in appeals court in our litigation against North Park Elementary School in the 47th Ward. This was all simply due to our refusal to sell our property (in Coonley boundary area) to the private school so our kids could attend Coonley.

I am still dumbfounded by the justice system in light of the evidence as it continues to side with the influential/well connected in our liberal enclave.

Apparently emails/texts received in discovery such as those outlined below are not enough to show corruption/threats/RICO in our city's courts:

Board Member/Developer to NPES: "I’m going to push his (Chadha) buttons today. My statement to him will be that my customers feel his property is worth less now and may want to wait for city foreclosure and buy it as a side yard."

Principal to NPES Board Members: "Negotiations on 2035 w Montrose have completely halted….We could re-contact the Alderman’s Office and see if he can speed up the court date or put additional pressure on the owner. "

NPES Board Member meeting notes: "Chris feels we need to put this to rest before the owner has a better understanding of our role throughout the last 3-4 months…..I know the Alderman’s office will do anything possible to help us get that property…"

Board Member/Developer to me: "Good luck hope the city doesn't take it away. This was a sure thing"

Thanks for listening/caring,

Kittyhop in Logan Square, I was standing at my rear kitchen window while on an important phone call, when I saw the perpetrator inside my truck. I yelled out as loud as I could and pounded on my window, which startled both the customer service representative and the a-hole in my truck. I ran out my backdoor towards my truck when he ran down the alley while clutching his, what looked like, a gun peering out of his shirt.
