  • Ravenswood Elementary School reviewed by a parent

Ravenswood is an absolutely incredible school. We've been so happy with our experiences here. My children have had incredible teachers every year. The programming is incredible, the options offered are fantastic, and the staff and administration goes out of their way to build a strong community. The support / friends of network is also very strong and really helps support communications and events. We're looking forward to another great year.

Loud music frequently in the summer at Hermitage + Montrose

I don't know where this started coming exactly from but I think it's that huge house that got built right on the NE corner of Montrose and Hermitage a few years ago. I don't know where this started coming exactly from but I think it's that huge house that got built right on the NE corner of Montrose and Hermitage a few years ago. They frequently have parties with LOUD MUSIC, OUTDOORS, during the week (must be nice to not have to work or care about sleep, I guess) and I'm just tired of it. I've lived in this neighborhood for almost 15 years. I like living here because it is NOT like living on a street with loud bars. At least it was, until these inconsiderate neighbors! Way to come into a neighborhood and ruin it.

Maybe the music is coming from somewhere else but, I think that's the place. Huge party going on right now, only been getting louder since 9:30 when I got home. Going on 11:30 now, I'm wondering amidst the whoops and screams as I can hear people getting drunker and wilder, will I sleep tonight at all?

I've called for a noise complaint on them before. I don't want to do it again. I should not have to do this every time. Have some common sense and respect for other people. I also kind of suspect that, nothing will happen. I mean, if you are rich enough to get a lot rezoned just for your huge single family mansion that's somehow technically an LLC... maybe rules just don't apply to you? Politeness certainly doesn't, apparently.

I feel like a grandpa complaining about this but, to be honest, I'm like, ~1 block away, in my apartment, sweltering because I closed all my windows to try to block out noise, and when I called a friend this evening they said, "Wow, where are you? Out partying?" so, yeah. It's that loud. I cannot imagine what the poor houses RIGHT NEXT TO THEM, are going through.

Does anyone else have any thoughts on this? Anyone else that needs to get to bed but can't sleep through this racket want to commiserate?

I heard really loud music on a rainy night a couple of weeks ago, but I'm near Cullom and Hermitage and thought it was coming from the east or slightly southeast of my house. I took a walk around the neighborhood and still couldn't figure out the source. I didn't go as far as Lakeview High but thought it might have been music from prom night.

Architectural Artifacts in the middle of the 4300 block on the east side of Ravenswood often had loud events in the past but they have become more responsive to noise complaints and seem to have reduced the noise volume. I didn't hear anything last night but I was out. You could certainly call 911 if you can reasonably identify the source.

Lost 1 bluetooth in-ear headphone

I'm missing one of my wireless, bluetooth in-bear headphones and am wondering if I dropped it somewhere in the neighborhood. I've looked everywhere in my house and cannot find it so now I'm wondering if I dropped it a week or so ago while walking my dog. It is black, oval shaped-ish and fits in the ear without any wires, etc. I would be ever so grateful if someone found it!!!
