Neighborly Litigation (Chadha v. NPES)

Many on this forum talk about litigating, be it for some unneighborly thing or other. Well, here is your chance to read the behind the scenes workings of the Chicago Way in its entirety (link below - get some popcorn and settle in) and VOTE.

This is the culmination of 7 years of attorney fees and a waste of our taxpayer-funded court's time/resources, in my opinion, of course.

Lakeview greystone with boho vibes asks $1.4M

1431 West Warner Avenue [Redfin]

Lakeview greystone with boho vibes asks $1.4M
This light-filled, greystone on a beautiful block between Southport and Greenview is ideal for those who love a perfect mix of rich, old-world style and high-end, modern finishes. The space is filled with kilim-style rugs, skylights, built-in bookcases, and has a gorgeous (and massive) master bath.

    Boho?

  • Jill H 38 years in Chicago, 19 in North Center

Bohemian chic, probably, because of the colorful rugs and wall hangings. Not my idea of bohemian anything but I'm not a designer.

I usually just see one officer in the car behind the house and I don't see the roving car every day. I assume it's there when there is some activity at the mayor's house. But I could be wrong; I'll have to look more closely into the rear car when I go by and pay more attention to who's on Cullom.
Re the CWB article, at the last CAPS meeting the office in charge said that we have to face the fact that this area won't be assigned more police, even if 1000 more cops are hired.

  • Melannie Bookworm

The police are vigilant to investigate any cars or persons who are loitering. The mayor makes decisions that are unpopular and therefore needs security as does other officials, such as whoever is currently sitting as POTUS.
We would not expect the secret service details to be pulled from their job to assist in local, criminal activity. It could be a diversion.
I would not expect that to happen and I live in the mayor’s “backyard,” one block away.

If you let your cat outside, and it disappears, check http://petharbor.com/chicago/

If you are a colony caretaker and one of your charges disappears... check with CACC.

2 GWCA Council Members organized and cleaned street leaves during the rain and cold on our 5th street leaf cleanup on Saturday, November 18th. 12 LVHS students worked the entire event. 22 bags of leaves filled and then picked up by the city as part of this effort.

GWCA asks that all neighbors in apartments, condos and homes to attack remaining street leaves and get them up. Please bag leaves and put them in your black garbage can or your condo dumpster for pick up. Remaining leaves migrate with rain and snow melt, clog sewer grates and freeze on intersections and crosswalks contributing to flooded basements, vehicles and intersections and contribution to falls.

Thanks everyone! Your leaf efforts will help everyone! Take advantage of the dry days we're having AND burn off some extra Thanksgiving calories!
