Farewell Dear Neighbors

It’s been a good run here on Everyblock. May you all do well and be safe. Thank you for being caring neighbors.

  • Catbus Philosopher, Third-Class

Having seen the conversations from other neighborhoods, I'm grateful that our share of trolls and racists was relatively low. Relatively.

Any good one person veterinarian offices on the north side?

The type where they don't have a revolving door of different vets coming and going and you never know who you are going to see or hear from each time you go there?

Thanks.

Lincoln Park Dog and Cat at 2665 N. Lincoln has had the same two excellent vets forever: Dr. Susan Ferraro and Dr. Margaret Post. Dr. Sue took over the practice from her dad years ago. Even though I moved out of that neighborhood, I trust no one else with my dogs.

    Future Alderman,
I’m sure these two upstanding citizens make $30,000 a year working at a respectful job, they were just a bit short to pay their bills, no big deal, just rob a delivery guy, problem solved. These two definitely need affordable housing, in JAIL, it’s affordable because we foot the bill .

Any recommendations for a top vet, esp for a perianal adenoma?

Thanks very much. Our 11 yr old Maltese has been dx'd with one of these. The biopsy hasn't come back so it might be worse (carcinoma) so we want to get him to the best vet and surgeon.

'Saw a man casting a big 10 ft.+ fishing NET into Belmont Harbor inlet yesterday. Is that legal?

He was a big guy and even he could hardly manage to unravel it and toss it in the water. As many times as I've been over there and seen fisherman, even those with multiple poles going, I've never seen this before.
Thanks.

  • Haaa! In her defense, she was simply asking if it was legal because she had never seen this before. If it was people BBQ-ing or little girls selling bottled water she would not have asked. & she got her answer.

Good thing is, 95% of the people in here who bothered to read this thread can exit it having learned something new, which is always a gift. Thanks guys, this was fun!

Male Tabby Cat Found

I came across this little guy near the Cullom/Paulina intersection who seems too friendly to be a stray. Taking him into the vet later to see if he is chipped but wanted to post on here to see if anyone recognizes the little guy.

He's not fixed, has 3 white paws, under 1 year old and extremely friendly.

  • I hope you find the owner! He looks like a real sweetie

What's a bioswale? Can I help?

Bioswales are included in the bump-outs on Berteau. Plants that make up a bioswale, filter, absorb and slow stormwater on its way to the sewer. This helps prevent sewers from being overwhelmed and helps reduce neighborhood street, basement and vehicle flooding. To help learn how to maintain these bioswales, email Terry at motordc@aol.com. And if you see litter in a bioswale, please pick it up.

  • Ravenswood Elementary School reviewed by a parent

Ravenswood is an absolutely incredible school. We've been so happy with our experiences here. My children have had incredible teachers every year. The programming is incredible, the options offered are fantastic, and the staff and administration goes out of their way to build a strong community. The support / friends of network is also very strong and really helps support communications and events. We're looking forward to another great year.
