U.S. Steel: Here We Go Again

Plans to develop the U.S. Steel site is on hold. The European conglomerate, Barcelona Housing System, put a skid on the project by voicing some concerns about soil contamination. This sound disingenuous considering that the EPA ( Environmental Protection Agency ) oversaw a massive remediation of the site when the McCaffery Group was suppose to develop the land. EPA deemed the site ready to go. Whether or not Barcelona is trying to use this as a ploy to reduce the cost of the land or to back out the deal all together is anyone's guess. The closing is postpone into sometime in May of 2018. Stay tuned...dats, dats, dats all folks.

South Shore man charged in Wednesday shooting that left victim in critical condition

Love was arrested about 11 a.m. Wednesday in the 7100 block of South Jeffery Avenue after he was identified as the person who shot and critically injured a man in the 2800 block of East 76th Street, police said.

Roosevelt Love, 22, of the 7100 block of South Yates Avenue, was charged Friday with aggravated battery with a firearm and attempted murder, police said.

Love was arrested about 11 a.m. Wednesday in the 7100 block of South Jeffery Avenue after he was identified as the person who shot and critically injured a man in the 2800 block of East 76th Street, police said.
