Rooster Crowing

Has anyone else been bothered by the noise of a rooster crowing all day long in the area? Has anyone else been bothered by the noise of a rooster crowing all day long in the area? I don't know precisely where this rooster is located, but it's pretty much driving me crazy just as would the sound of an incessantly barking dog. I have no problem with people owning roosters or chickens in the city, but there needs to be some consideration for the noise, and I believe there are humane and inexpensive ways to reduce the noise a rooster is able to make.

I don't want to call the police, because they have much more important things to be dealing with than a silly rooster, but has anyone else been bothered by this? I'd be more than happy to help it's owner make a rooster collar for it, if they were willing.

Any advice or guidance for dealing with something like this would be appreciated.

  • So the rooster isnt crowing

    Its screaming for help

  • CL

I believe the ordinance is that an officer has to witness the noise or you have to collect signatures from three neighbors confirming the nuisance. I can’t imagine getting three signatures would be a problem, I just have no idea what to do with them. I guess take them and file a report with the police?

5200 W. Roscoe

Noticed the construction going on inside this building of the corner of 5200 W Roscoe/Laramie. The ground level has framing going on front to back. Any ideas what they are doing?

  • Is framing going up inside the existing building or outside?

  • From what I seen that night in the dark, the framing is going on inside the first floor, front to back. Please note, I was inquiring if anyone had ideas what business establishment was coming. Or what they are building inside the place, not if there are permits. I'm not one to report people. I'm glad the building was purchased and work is being done instead of sitting abandoned.

30th Ward Aldermanic Election

Who would you vote for if the election were held today?

A) Ariel Reboyras (incumbent)

B) Jessica Gutierrez (Congressman's daughter)

C) Anyone but these two

  • Drain the swamp. Anyone in there, or is related to someone in there, or even knows anyone in there, should not get any chicagoans vote. Haven’t you seen enough.
