FOUND SIAMESE

On Saturday night, we found a Siamese cat around keystone and montrose. He is a young un-neutered male. Very sweet, and not chipped. Please note, this is not the missing cat named Jon Snow.

Anybody have a great pediatrician and OBGYN (and hospital) they would recommend?

I'm looking for a great OBGYN and a good hospital to have my baby at. (I've looked at the hospital reviews and because of them I'm kind of wanting to have my baby in another state at this point.) Please help! I also haven't been able to find a pediatrician or OB with great reviews who is nearby. I'd prefer someone close but am willing to go downtown too. Thank you so much for recommendations! I really appreciate it 😊

  • For an OB/GYN, hands down, I recommend Dr. Micah Garb at Northwestern-Lake Forest. We just delivered our first at Lake Forest in March. I know it is a bit of a drive, ( but if you were looking at going as far as out of state, I imagine you don't...

For an OB/GYN, hands down, I recommend Dr. Micah Garb at Northwestern-Lake Forest. We just delivered our first at Lake Forest in March. I know it is a bit of a drive, ( but if you were looking at going as far as out of state, I imagine you don't mind a bit of a commute.) Long story short, I began seeing Dr. Garb when he was at a private practice in Streetorville. He's fantastic enough that I followed him to the burbs. When choosing a hospital to deliver it, we primarily looked at Swedish, Prentice, and Lake Forest. I, too, was unimpressed with Swedish. Our delivery experience at Lake Forest was hands-down the best it could have been. The staff was amazing, and we felt like we were the only patients there. I was also a high risk pregnancy, and never once doubted any care or advice we received.

As far as a pediatrician, we're going to a Northwestern affiliated office at North & Clyborn. We've seen all but one of the Drs. there, and it's been kinda 'meh'. Definitely haven't clicked with any of the Doctors or been impressed, but not bad enough that I'd say to steer clear. PM me if you have any questions, best of luck, and congratulations!!!

  • Illinois Masonic was fantastic. The level of personal attention and care was incredible, and they don't rush you out of there, unlike Prentiss, which we were warned is baby factory. Their ObGyn faculty group has a lot of great doctors. Dr Melissa Dennis, Dr Popper.

We also highly recommend our pediatrician--Dr Nava Segall. She's with Lurie Children's but sees infants at Illinois Masonic as well.

Milly Santiago Must Go

The 31st Ward can do better! She does nothing for her constituents. No service. No response. She only goes to parties, collects a paycheck, and whines about not getting enough perks! Need a qualified candidate to run against Milly in the 2019 election. Is that you?

Internet Service Providers???

We are moving to Portage Park soon and we are looking for recommendations on internet providers. We are hoping to avoid the big companies like Comcast and AT&T. Thanks!!

  • Lisahew Business owner who live works in neighborhood

    Highly recommend http://www.12global.com/
Super fast, affordable small new local company that is competing with the big guys. I have used their service for almost 8 months and all has been excellent thus far - no buffering and a human to attend to your issues without recordings, etc. You buy your own router. I hope they blow the big guys out of the water.

"""Dear Parents/ Guardians and Community Members,
It is with deep sadness that we inform you about a recent loss to our school community. On Saturday, October 14 at a little after 11 am, Mrs. Shelly Magnus, a valued teacher at Belding Elementary, passed away.
Our thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time. Please join with Belding Staff in our commitment to support our students and the Magnus family during this time of loss.
This loss is sure to raise many emotions, concerns and questions for the entire school, especially our staff and students. Next week we will have a number of counselors at the school to provide grief counseling and support to students and staff. These individuals will be in the building to assist our school community.
Information about the services will be made available as soon as we have it. There will be a family funeral in Indiana first, and sometime later a Chicago celebration of her life at the Irish American Heritage Center.
If your child wishes to attend, we strongly encourage you to accompany him or her to the service. If you or your children wish to send a condolence card to the family you may send it to the school and we will ensure the family receives these.
We are saddened by this loss and will do everything we can to help you and your student."""

Car window broken.

My car was parked on the 4300 block of Roscoe and my front passager window was broken last night. I did see a couple of other cars with broken windows too. Just giving a heads up and want to know if anyone seen or heard anything. I did file a police report.

  • I live around the block and my next door neighbor, parked on Roscoe, had his windows broken too. Monday and then on Friday. Both times he said nothing was taken as there's nothing in there to take and on Friday he found the rock that was used, inside the car. I agree, it seems more like vandalism. It sucks.

  • Ask the your police station fro 'special attention' in there tha tis happening; they will drive more often thru that area.

Therapy Office Space Rentals in the Area

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone had suggestions of available rental space for a mental health therapy office in the old Irving park, Kilbourn park, Irving Park, and Portage Park areas. I am more than happy to sublet from existing practices as well.

Thank you so much for your time.

Caught Man casing my house

Drove up to my house on block of 4900 W Warwick to see a young man walking down the side of my house. He was wearing a gray sweatshirt with hood on "Kenny from South Park" style so face was not visible. I asked what is he doing and he shrugged me off and started walking fast around the corner. Noticed my back gate from alley wide open as well as side gate. Ran to chase and get picture but be had disappeared. Be on watch and keep windows locked. My back window was wide open and if hadn't came home, he probably would have broken in.

Stair repair and runner installation

I'm looking for recommendations on someone who can both take a look at our stairs and repair the squeaks, and then install a carpeted stair runner. We're planning to buy the runner online. I'm not sure if this is something that a handyman could do, or if we need to hire a flooring expert. Any suggestions/recommendations are much appreciated!

  • Cavalear LS Father/Home Owner/Helpful Neighbor

You clearly didn't get any help from EB, but curious if you ended up finding someone that you could recommend? Wife and I are looking to do the exact same thing. Thanks.

  • MTC or Cavalear, did you end up doing the project? Any recommendations?
