First weekend of 2018: 4 killed, 15 wounded in city shootings

The man, identified by the Cook County medical examiner as Trennis Milam Sr. of the 6700 block of South Bell Avenue, was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene at 1:20 p.m.

The first homicide of the weekend came on Friday about 6:05 p.m. in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side, police said. A 35-year-old man was fatally shot in the 5300 block of West Lake Street and ran to the 300 block of North Lorel Avenue, where police found him on collapsed on the ground.

In the other shooting, a 49-year-old motorist was fatally shot by a person he was arguing with about 1:30 p.m. in the 500 block of North Laramie Avenue in the Austin neighborhood.
