  • Sadly, even if caught, the shooters will only get a few weeks probation. Commit murder? That might be a week in jail with no facebook.

I was by augusta and hamlin today and heard really loud shots and then less loud, bc I didn’t hear sirens I thought they were fireworks, but when i drove east on Chicago ave and took central police had blocked the street and therr were many police cars and emergency vehicles. I keep searching to find something but nothing comes up. This is second incident that i was very close to and in one I even saw the guy lying in a pool of blood and didn’t make the news. I wonder how many of these sorts are not reported

".shot in the Humboldt Park neighborhood about 7 p.m. She was walking in the 1500 block of North Rockwell Avenue when at least two gunmen started shooting at each other — the victim was shot in..". The gang violence will only get worse and peak on Father Day weekend in Humboldt park. History has shown, it drops down drastically after Fathers Day to normal levels. I think the "normal" level is still way to high but that is what we need to work on in the future. I hope everyone will be safe.

www.heyjackass.com eventually reports all reported shootings. Pretty depressing webpage but they try to lighten it up a bit with devices like their shotinthejunkometer.

I use it to plan my bike commute through (or around) Garfield Park and Austin.
