Really!! "speeding down side streets" Really!!

Im fed up with the speeders that run thru 3100 n kenneth! Why!? I observe these speeders all day long. It never disaponits me to see the little tunners with nicer wheels then the actual cars, oh wait they also have better exhaust and sound systems. I guess thats the new fab! Anyway... Thats my consern. My consern is that i have kids and see kids playing in our front lawns and im scared of these cars that come flying down the street. Is it possible to place speed bumps or anyother means to slow these cars down!? Any suggestions on how to approch this issue?

  • Kelly Dunning

Contact your alderman and explain the situation. Good luck!

  • Norma Bolante married , 6 grown sons and daughters,3 dogs,6 hens

Ask about getting some speed bumps ask your alderman maybe he can give you some good ideas... but we have speed bumps here and same thing happens except the idiots lose control of their car and hit the parked cars. Why and got it almost totaled it because it was an older car. But you still need to train your children to protect themselves by not running into the street sometimes that's all you can do to protect yourself and your family

Boom cars

I recently moved to the neighborhood from Portage Park. The first thing I really noticed was the high level of boom cars. (Boom cars: cars with excessively loud bass that rattles windows) I guess I just have to get used to it. Does anyone else notice this or bothered by this issue?

  • We shouldn't get used to it. I think we need to push for our aldermen to introduce at the least a noise pollution bill for boom cars. They are a safety hazard for children in those cars and pose a dangerous risk to 1st responders siren alerts.

  • I believe the noise ordinance is already in place to deal with this nuisance. Getting it enforced is the challenge. Like everything else, most violations are only addressed with a call to 911.

  • Should have stayed in Portage Park.
    Welcome to the getto !!!
