Sandy, most Spaniards find that tradition repulsive and shameful. They don't want to be associated with it and slowly but surely it'll be banned nationally. It's a matter of when, not if. There is a recalcitrant (yet small) cross section of the population that unfortunately supports it, the same ones who didn't have a problem supporting other shameful yet formerly legal practices that I would rather not mention. It's unacceptable. Spain has recently changed other contemptible laws. It's a matter of time at this point in history. The EU cut subsidies to fund such an abomination. What an unpresentable tradition. An embarrassment.

Glenbrook South surprises St. Viator

    Glenbrook South surprises St. Viator
St. Viator's four-minute drill, according to their coach, was not enough to win on Wednesday afternoon at the Wheeling Wildcat Hardwood Classic. "We didn't deserve to win. We played good basketball for all of about four minutes," said coach Quin Hayes after his Lions were upset in the tournament's first round Wednesday by Glenbrook South, 63-58 in overtime.

Calling on Chicago to provide 2200K PC AMBER LED Streetlight Test Block

Chicago is in the process, like many cities around the world, of replacing our streetlights with blue-rich white LED's (BRWL's). Chicago is in the process, like many cities around the world, of replacing our streetlights with blue-rich white LED's (BRWL's). At 3000K these lights are at the absolute highest end of what the AMA has deemed safe. Blue spectrum light at night (270,000 streetlights in Chicago) will affect the health and circadian rhythms of people, plants and animals by creating 24 hours of daylight. IMHO, these lights are not only unsafe they are ugly and painful to look at, just like the new LED headlights...too bright and too glaring. They will make our city look like the frozen food aisle at Aldi, or at best, a Night Game. Chicago owes it to its tax payers, who will shell out $700 per light, to at least set up one test street with 2200K PC Amber LED's. If you would like to see such a test street, please let your Aldermen know. This is a four year roll out and changes can be made before it’s too late. If you would like to view or join our FB Group, please feel welcome. Thank you.
