Do Cat Groomers Exist?

We would like to find a cat groomer for, yes, a lion cut plus occasional combing and ear cleaning. Persian cat wiggles, cannot scratch, sometimes is very well behaved, occasionally quite vocal. Suggestions on who/where please?

  • Try asking your vet. They probably know someone.

  • Try Cindy at Hyde Park Animal Hospital on Stoney. She used to be the groomer at Parker's Pets. My friend's mom had a cat that literally scared any service provider who came in contact with him, but for some reason Cindy was able to calm him down and provide him with a handsome lion cut. She is truly a gem.

  • thank you; we really hoped for comments with first-hand experience

Money for classroom libraries

James Patterson has pledged another $2 million to school libraries this year, the third donation in his School Library Campaign and an increase from last year's $1.75 million gift. A partnership with Scholastic Book Clubs, the campaign will once again focus on teachers, distributing $500 grants to 4,000 people to supplement classroom libraries.

Bring the Pup Vote for Miles

Since the beginning, through her many community and neighborhood improvement projects, throughout the south side of Chicago, Anne Marie Miles has gone to bat for Jackson Bark on numerous occasions. A puparent herself and a regular at the park she truly understands JBark's value to pup, puparent and the community at-large. Please return the favor by giving her your vote tomorrow, March 20th, Election Day

...and please share the flowing with friends, family and neighbors in the 25th District:

Tiger Woods Golf Course in JP Sounds Good

I've changed my mind about the Tiger Woods 18 hole golf course in Jackson Park. It's sounds very good with a commitment to keep green fees under $50 for Chicago residents and push to make green fees free for youths under 17 years old. Affordable golf for local young people is an excellent idea. Along with the outstanding tennis facility now in operation at 54th and State street, we're getting some tremendous golf and tennis facilities/programs for our young people (And also for us old codgers)

Great job Tiger Woods!

What's the latest on Tiger Woods course at Jackson Park?
Designers of the proposed Tiger Woods golf course on the Jackson Park and South Shore properties think in terms of letters, not numbers. So don't call their latest plan 2.0. They've torn up so many iterations, they're up to Plan "V" - and they believe this 7,341-yard layout (2,998 yards for little squirts) would provide a victory for everyone, namely golf enthusiasts and the neighboring community.
