7 wounded in city shootings, including 3 children

Police are on scene after a man was shot on July 1, 2018 in the 4800 block of South Bishop Street.

The shooting that injured six happened just before 10 p.m. in the 3400 block of West Walnut Street in the East Garfield Park neighborhood, police said.

    Six people, including three children, were shot in a single attack Sunday evening on the West Side, and a man was wounded in a separate shooting on the South Side, Chicago police said. At least four of the victims were not the intended targets of the shooters, police said.

1 Dead, at Least 6 Injured in Chicago Shootings Sunday

A 36-year-old man is in serious condition after he was shot in the chest in the 4800 block of South Bishop at approximately 8:45 p.m. Circumstances of the shooting are unknown, according to police.

Just before 5 a.m. Sunday, a 32-year-old man was inside a vehicle in the 6600 block of South Western when a person began firing at the car.

Earlier Sunday, two people were injured in a shooting in the 1900 block of North Lawndale, according to police.

A 31-year-old man was shot four times in the leg in the 1400 block of South Kolin, according to police. Neither the victim nor witnesses would cooperate with authorities, and the victim is in serious condition at Mount Sinai.

During an argument in the 400 block of North McClurg Court just after 5 a.m., a person pulled out a gun and began shooting at a 40-year-old man, hitting him in the arm. The victim was taken to Rush Hospital and was listed in good condition, according to police.
