Children’s Book Fair to host fundraiser next month

The Committee will provide transportation to Powell’s Warehouse, 3429 W. 47th St. Buses will leave from Kenwood Academy High School, 5015 S. Blackstone Ave., between 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 10.

The Children’s Book Fair was moved to Nichols Park, 1355 E. 53rd St., about five or six years ago. Janowitz said the reason behind the move was because they could no longer use Ray Elementary School, 5631 S. Kimbark Ave., as a rain location.

Those who were running the fair at the time believed that the Hyde Park Neighborhood Club, 5480 S. Kenwood Ave., was an easier space to move into in the case of rain.
