Tiger Woods Golf Course in JP Sounds Good

I've changed my mind about the Tiger Woods 18 hole golf course in Jackson Park. It's sounds very good with a commitment to keep green fees under $50 for Chicago residents and push to make green fees free for youths under 17 years old. Affordable golf for local young people is an excellent idea. Along with the outstanding tennis facility now in operation at 54th and State street, we're getting some tremendous golf and tennis facilities/programs for our young people (And also for us old codgers)

Great job Tiger Woods!

What's the latest on Tiger Woods course at Jackson Park?
Designers of the proposed Tiger Woods golf course on the Jackson Park and South Shore properties think in terms of letters, not numbers. So don't call their latest plan 2.0. They've torn up so many iterations, they're up to Plan "V" - and they believe this 7,341-yard layout (2,998 yards for little squirts) would provide a victory for everyone, namely golf enthusiasts and the neighboring community.

Kemal Murray Tennis Center with Obama Library West of Washington Park

I was very excited to hear tennis coach/entrepreneur Kemal Murray speak at the South Shore Cultural center Sat. Kemal has built one of the largest, state of the art Tennis Centers at 54th - 55th and State street! I haven't seen such a handsome, charming and ambitious man like Kemal since Mohammed Ali in his prime!

Kemal has invested > $12 million in virtually vacant (near) Englewood west of our Hyde Park. If other investment follows then this area could come up.

The alternative location for the Obama Library would be 55th street just west of Washington Park - it has ideal Green Line Public transportation, access to the Dan Ryan expressway and would not entail destroying Chicago's precious public park land.

The more I see of the proposed Jackson Park Obama Library plans, the more I hate it. It will cause a traffic nightmare closing Cornel Drive - Indiana commuters will all have to snarl through Stony Island. A big chuck of Jackson Park and the Midway Plaisance will be turned in to a god awful parking lot. Plus it's just terrible that a beautiful public park that is a refuge from Chicago politics will be turned in to a 24/7 political place - Jackson Park will become Obama Park.

Don't let anyone say the Obama Library takeover of Jackson Park is a done deal. It's not. They said the same thing about the election of Hillary and they're still whining that the FBI is going to reverse Hillary's loss by some ridiculous Russian spy scandal. Isn't there some laws about destroying/altering historic heritage sites? Let's support Kemal Murray's tennis center and add the Obama library in a great place and save our parks.
