So, everyone in Canaryville is a racist, or according to you, was one back then? Check! Says more about your character, and now has me ignoring anything else you add to the conversation. As someone who was born and raised in Canaryville and has parents who were also born and raised in Canaryville, I can tell you that your statement is false and not worthy of any more attention. Have a great day being that "victim" you speak of.

'Summer: The Donna Summer Musical' is where the disco ball spins the real truth

'Summer: The Donna Summer Musical' is where the disco ball spins the real truth
"Who lives, who dies, who tells your story?" they sing in "Hamilton." Well, if you have control over the combination of your biography and all your hit songs, the answer is perfectly simple: you do. There's a big difference between pop stars and politicians: the ones whose hits stay in demand can control their material and their legacy, even from beyond the grave.

Water Meter Installation 2018 Update

After getting this water meter installed in 2014, I really wanted it to be a ripoff, like most other city services. But after four years of water bills, I can safely say that unless you're emptying Lake Michigan every time you shower, a metered account is a better deal. If you're on the fence, just do it.

Water Meter Installation Update - 2018
Four years after the installation of my water meter, the half-yearly charges are less than a quarter of what they were when I was being billed for non-metered water. It's a great deal, as long as you keep the bill paid on time, which, of course, you do with all your bills.

'Three Tall Women' on Broadway: In a masterful Albee production starring Laurie Metcalf, this trio could be you

“Three Tall Women” is at the Golden Theatre, 252 W. 45th St.; threetallwomenbroadway.com.

'Three Tall Women' on Broadway: In a masterful Albee production starring Laurie Metcalf, this trio could be you
Should children be taught of the imminence of their own death in much the same way that they are taught their ABCs? Edward Albee's "Three Tall Women" - now on Broadway in an extraordinarily bone-chilling production from the director Joe Mantello featuring a trio of heart-stopping performances from Glenda Jackson, Laurie Metcalf and Alison Pill - roars out that argument.

Is it safe around the 47th Red Line station at 11 pm - 12 am?

For a few weeks, I will have to get off the Red Line and get on bus 47 (and vice versa) between 11 pm and 12 am. How safe (or not safe) is that area for someone to be standing around waiting for the train/bus?

  • @MeeLee - I meant not having your phone out walking around with your nose buried in it and headphones blaring - vs doing a quick check for the bus. As far as the attackers, actually, a lot of these instances are happening at the hands of teens ... skinny little pipsqueaks barely 160 pounds who never had a father to teach them you shouldn't rob people.

  • Ah, ok. Not glued to phone. Gotcha. :) I’m not intending to walk around anywhere farther than the train station and bus stop.

I’m 120 lbs but I think I’ll be pretty good at whacking a 160-lb guy. Must bring whacker.

Disney's 'Frozen' opens on Broadway with a warm sister bond — and Elsa gives her all with 'Let it Go'

Disney's 'Frozen' opens on Broadway with a warm sister bond - and Elsa gives her all with 'Let it Go'
Vastly improved from its rocky Denver tryout, director Michael Grandage's heavily sold production of Disney's "Frozen" is set to open here Thursday night, replete with richer storytelling, less extraneous comedy and with its crucial pair of sisters, who in Denver seemed all iced up in some chilly corner of the castle, finally letting go enough emotionally to thaw the center of their mutually dependent story.

Jimmy Buffett's 'Escape to Margaritaville' feels out place on Broadway - where sand and Parrotheads can be hard to find
NEW YORK - For anyone who has watched some 40,000 Jimmy Buffett fans shout "Salt! Salt! Salt!" at Wrigley Field or Fenway Park and proceed en masse to move their fins first to the left and then to the right, Wednesday night at the Marriott Marquis Theatre was, at first, a bit of a cold shower.
