Man, 62, shot in Little Village while barbecuing

In the most recent attack, a 20-year-old man was shot in the groin in the 4300 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue at around 7:05 p.m. The man was treated at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, police said.

The 62-year-old was in front of a home in the 2700 block of West 25th Street about 4:30 p.m. when someone fired a black handgun in his direction, hitting him in the right knee, police said. The 62-year-old was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in good condition.

A 25-year-old man was shot in the right arm about 6:45 p.m. in the 3200 block of West 55th Street, in the city’s Gage Park neighborhood, police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was in good condition.

About 12 hours earlier, around 6:25 a.m., a 47-year-old man was in a business in the 5400 block of West Chicago Avenue in the city’s South Austin neighborhood when someone shot him, police said.

She told police she was cleaning a desk in the 5800 block of North Spaulding Avenue in the city’s Hollywood Park neighborhood when she “felt pain’’ and began bleeding in her upper right shoulder. She did not hear any gunfire, police said.

At least one person was shot on Saturday morning on the West Side. The victim, a 47-year-old man, was in a business in the 5400 block of West Chicago Avenue in the city's South Austin neighborhood when someone shot him about 6:25 a.m., police said.

At Least 7 Wounded in Shootings Across Chicago

In the 4300 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue at approximately 7:02 p.m., a 20-year-old man was standing on a sidewalk when he heard shots and felt pain in his groin area. The man was taken to Mercy Hospital in stable condition, police said.

A 36-year-old man is in critical condition and another man is in serious condition after they were shot multiple times in the 1400 block of South Millard on Saturday morning.

About 10 minutes later, another man was shot in the 200 block of West 95th Street, police said. The 41-year-old victim was sitting inside of a crashed vehicle when police discovered him, and he was taken to Christ Hospital in critical condition with a gunshot wound to his head.

The shooting, which occurred in the 5400 block of West Chicago, happened when the man walked into an establishment and another man opened fire. The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, according to police.

A 62-year-old man was shot in the right knee in the 2700 block of West 25th Street just before 4:30 p.m., police said. The man was barbecuing in front of a home when a person opened fire with a semi-automatic handgun, striking the victim. He was taken to the hospital in good condition.

A 25-year-old man was standing on a sidewalk in the 3200 block of West 55th Street when he heard shots and felt pain in his arm. He was taken to Mount Sinai in good condition after the shooting, police said.

CHICAGO (CBS) - Extreme heat returns today, and emergency officials are sounding the alarm, suggesting precautions everyone should take to stay cool. Temperatures were expected to reach a high of 95 in Chicago on Friday, 97 on Saturday, and 92 on Sunday, which would make the second weekend in a row that the city is facing a heat wave.
