    A man has been charged with shooting another man during a robbery attempt last week in the Canaryville neighborhood on the South Side. Eric Blake, 23, was arrested Wednesday and has been charged with felony counts of aggravated battery with a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon for the April 11 attack, according to Chicago Police.

A 38-year-old man was shot four times in the back a buttocks around 11:50 p.m. Wednesday in the 4900 block of West Fulton Street on the West Side, Chicago police said. He was stabilized at Mount Sinai Hospital.

Also on the West Side, about two hours earlier, a 19-year-old man was killed and a 22-year-old man was wounded in a possible drive-by shooting around 9:50 p.m. in the 2500 block of West Polk Street in the Lawndale neighborhood, police said.

Two 26-year-old men and a woman were wounded in the 5:10 p.m. attack in the 4400 block of West Maypole Avenue. Both men were shot in the leg while the woman, 18, suffered a gunshot wound to the neck. Earlier, police said she was shot in the ear.

The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of West Washington Boulevard in the West Town neighborhood on the West Side about 6:30 p.m., police said.

About 8:05 p.m., a 28-year-old man was shot in the 5500 block of West Haddon Avenue in the South Austin neighborhood on the West Side, police said in a media notification. The man was shot in the arm and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.

A 20-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the right hand about 7:55 p.m. in the 5000 block of South Kedzie Avenue in the Gage Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side, police said in a media notification. The man was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.

Just before 7:50 p.m., a man was shot in the cheek in the 7100 block of North Clark Street in the Rogers Park neighborhood on the Far North Side, police said. The man was taken to an area hospital, where his condition was stabilized. Possible suspects were being questioned by police.

    A shooting in the city's West Garfield Park neighborhood has injured three people Wednesday afternoon, Chicago police said. Two 26-year-old men and a woman were wounded during the 5:10 p.m. attack at West Maypole and North Kilbourn avenues. Both men were shot in the leg while the woman suffered a gunshot wound to the ear.

Volunteer as a one-on-one tutor for just 90 minutes a week at 1751 West 35th Street on the southwest side of Chicago. All tutoring is in English, so you don't have to speak another language to volunteer. Volunteer tutoring opportunities are 9am-8pm, Monday-Thursday.
