#12thWardSuccesses On December 15th, 2016 Alderman Cardenas announced La Villita Park was officially opened over the weekend. On opening day kids were all over it enjoying a warm December afternoon. Children playing is what we want to see and this park, more than 15 years in the making, will give them a safe place to play and will add needed green space to our Little Village community. Thank you to all the people that made it happen. Please frequent the park, make use of it and take ownership of it; both young and not so young. The park is located at 27th & Whipple.

The degree to which the Farm on Ogden can engage the entire community will determine its success, said Lt. Ted Kramer of the Chicago Fire Department. Kramer and some of his fellow firefighters stationed at the corner of 27th and Kedzie have stopped by the farm to help out on occasion.
