Where to sell used goods locally?

I would like to get rid of some decent electronics that are used but probably still have some value. (55" TV, laptops, etc).

Anyone know of a good place around Pilsen / Bridgeport that buys and resales used goods? (aside from Craigslist, etc)

Protect Rental Property Assets with an LLC
Real Estate has always been considered a safe investment since the supply is finite and the demand grows with the population. Even though we have seen some swings in the real estate market over the past decade, the theory still is held true by many.

Neighbor repeatedly reporting us to City agencies... Is there any way to stop the harassment?

The older, single woman living in the house next door to us has been repeatedly reporting our house to various city agencies, complaining of rodents (rats, which live in HER yard), "trash" in our yard, building code violations. We have had our yard inspected repeatedly with no violations. Can she be reported for harassment?

I had to call out the Streets & Sans Supervisor for my neighborhood to put to bed once and for all that our fence on the alley wasn't a problem for traffic (since it was my neighbor's one and only pressing issue, apparently). As soon as he met me in the alley, he pointed to the house with the old lady in it who was causing the huff and said he remembered her from 15 years earlier when she was causing a condo development headaches and calling all the time. He gave me his direct number and said to call if I ever had an issue. They've never been back out since.

Lights Out

Most of the street lights on Paulina St. between 18th St. and Cermak Rd. are out. Anyone know why?
The area around Cooper School is especially dark. I've seen groups of young girls and elderly women walking cautiously in the area, while groups of young men linger about.
There is some construction going on with the roads (sewers) but it can't be impossible to have some temporary lights for safety.

If anything breaks in the City, a 3-1-1 request will be routed directly to the City agency responsible for fixing the problem. You can even request text messages for updates. Just about every agency is responsive. (... except for Streets & Sanitation - good luck with them, if you ever need them...) Fortunately, there is a separate agency for street lighting.

This is the direct link to the form for Street Lights out: https://www.cityofchicago.org/city/en/depts/cdot/provdrs/traffic_signals_andstreetlights/svcs/street_light_1_out.html

How to Check if you are Entitled to a Red-Light Camera Ticket Refund

You may be entitled to a refund from the City of Chicago red-light camera settlement. Here is how you can check online to see if you qualify to receive a refund or have your violation debt forgiven.

Check to See if you are Entitled to a Red Light Camera Refund
As many drivers in and around the City of Chicago know, red-light cameras have been installed on many of the intersections we navigate. Unfortunately, many of us know all too well of how they work as you may have received a violation notice in the mail sometime soon after seeing the flash of the camera as you went through an intersection.

Pilsen dog park needed

Agree with melirodgriguez! The small triangle next to the pool at Dvorak Park would be an ideal place for a dog park where many dogs are there most days anyway. I have taken my dog there many times and met other dog owners in the neighborhood who would love to have a dog park, new and old residents. For now, I do visit the dog park on Wabash in-between 16th and 18th which is a great park but a bit of a walking distance from Pilsen. There are really no dog parks for owners to use in the nearby area and it would be nice to have a designated space so dogs can run freely and safely.

Pilsen Open Studios XV

http://www.chicagotribune.com/hoy/ct-pilsen-artists-open-up-their-studios-on-their-quinceanera-20171020-story.html

"Although most artists are Latino, not everyone uses the same aesthetic and not everyone makes folk art. The Latin American community is just as complex in styles and philosophies as what you are going to find in the Art Institute of Chicago."

Pilsen artists open up their studios on their 'quinceañera'
15 years ago, Chicago's Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events designated October as Chicago Artists' Month. They sent a letter to the muralist Héctor Duarte to propose the idea that he open up his workshop to the public, located across the street from the National Museum of Mexican Art, and offer him some publicity in their brochure.

Diez y Ocho restaurant 'priced out', re-opens Friday for the last time
'Diez y Ocho' is the name by which Michael Hernandez calls the neighborhood where he grew up, and it's what he decided to name his burger joint located on 18th St. and Damen Ave., a promising, but short-lived venture that could not survive the increasing cost of commercial space in Pilsen, he said.

Loud Motorbike Racing Over East Pilsen

Motorcycles, some easily reaching speeds over 100mph, race on Dan Ryan Expy with impunity. Nightly, between midnight and 4am, motorcycles speed South of Roosevelt to God-knows-where. I never hear a siren give chase. What gives? Where's the State Police? You could easily make a few thousand in fines for empty state coffers.
Loudest is Ryan over Canalport @2am. Your help will be appreciated.
