MISSING WHITE & BLACK SHIH TZU MIX DOG -reward

My Mom’s dog is missing. He went missing on October 27th. He may have been seen around Douglas Park.

He is mostly white and black, with black long ears. He may look quite different from the long haired dog in the photo.

He is a lovable dog who keeps my Mom company. We miss him so much.

Please if you have seen him or have any information please contact me on

The race for Cook County Commissioner, 2nd District will very interesting. The 2nd District includes communities on the West and South Sides, including North Lawndale and Englewood. While the communities have similar issues, there will be that tendency to elect "one of our own". For some, "one of our own" is someone from our neighborhood. For some, "one of our own" is one who is easily controlled. For others, "one of our own" is someone with whom we can identify culturally, regardless of where they live.

When I speak of "culturally", I'm not speaking of race or ethnicity, but about those intangibles that reflect similar values and political philosophies.

I don't know who all will be running. Technically, no one is a candidate until s/he makes the ballot. When the final cut comes, I hope there will be candidates with a demonstrated record of leadership, community service, good judgment; the willingness to carefully weigh and analyze the issues without being a rubber stamp; courage to speak truth to power and be a true advocate for the voters; strength of character (honesty and integrity) and loyalty, and the ability to put the voters' interests above his/her own personal and political gain. If you know of such a candidate, please share below.

  • Mitchellfred Sixty-year resident of North Lawndale/24th ward

The POTUS wanted to know if he can "pardon" himself...is the jury still out? Fred Mitchell would make a good candidate. He will be declaring himself as a "write-in" candidate.
