Criminal activity

Residents are not being notified of neighborhood criminal activity in a timely manner.
If residents and guests are not notified by the city or association management companies, the criminals are free to attack again until they are caught.
There must be a better notification system sent immediately once an attack is reported by a victim.

    John Adams
Were you talking about the commanders death?
If so your right about the In Chicago. He'll sadly receive a slap on the wrist and be let back out sooner than you think.
The politicians say they want to something. How about bringing back the death penalty for crimes like this
But that will never happen with all the snow flakes and politicians with no Bxxxs

  • @JL

You're off your rocker if you think that will happen. The psycho who did that will be in prison for quite a while. There's just too much evidence against him.

However, I do wish they'd put as much effort into convicting ALL the murderers as they will with the commander's death.

Suggestions for Block of Land For Sale

Hi Neighbors. We noticed that there is a for sale sign at a parking lot on the 2100 Block of South Indiana (adjacent to The Lex and across from the Wintrust Arena). Our community needs a full grocery store and a pharmacy. Any suggestions regarding how we can encourage these types of businesses into our developing neighborhood?

  • Women's Park & Garden Advisory Council www.chicagowomenspark.com

Suggest you contact the area community organization for ideas - Prairie District Neighborhood Alliance www.pdnachicago.com

  • The retailers don't develop properties, special commercial real estate companies do. That area is being developed by one of the biggest around - and it's backed by the government... http://thecollectionatmccormicksquare.com/

That parcel you are looking at is destined to be parking in the short term and a hotel in the long term. I doubt that the City would let thing else get in and create an anchor that would prevent this development from expanding, when it's ready.

Monitoring the air quality on my corner sure taught me a few things about the EPA, particulates and Wifi
When I was asked a few months ago to participate in a short study that required monitoring the air quality on the street where I live, I was eager to please. Not only did I want to please the person who asked me to do it-Gail Merritt, who started Alliance for a Greener South Loop, always...

Underground Pedway

How safe is the underground pedway near the museums? I know there's an entrance near 1100 S. Columbus Drive near the Aquarium. Input greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Sheila A. Donovan Have been an owner at the Stratford since 2001.

I've used the underpass to the museum campus countless times without a problem. In fact, I've never heard of anyone having a problem there, though like anywhere there might have been a few incidents. I consider it to be quite safe.

  • Thanks so much, everyone! I thought it was going to be completely underground, but it ended up being an open underpass as folks have mentioned. I'm curious to try the actual underground Pedway. I guess I should explore one of these days!
