Criminal activity

Residents are not being notified of neighborhood criminal activity in a timely manner.
If residents and guests are not notified by the city or association management companies, the criminals are free to attack again until they are caught.
There must be a better notification system sent immediately once an attack is reported by a victim.

Piano teacher?

Hi, I'm looking for a piano teacher for my five year old. Any recommendations? We have a piano, so we're able to have someone come to us, if needed. Thanks!

  • These are great ideas, thank you! I also found a site, takelessons.com, where you can look within an area code and see reviews for a teacher, too. I'm going to check out the places you recommended, as well. Thank you!

  • Follow-up, I tried the takelessons.com and had a miserable experience. Wouldn't stop harassing me after I created a profile, and when I did try to enlist a teacher, the teacher backed out within 30 minutes. Was told I would have someone try and help find a replacement, but no one ever contacted me and I called to get a refund. So, just FYI! Now looking at other options.

  • Jane Addams High School reviewed by a student

I attended Kelly High School for 3 years. Kelly being a huge school with a population of 2000 plus students made it really easy for me to do whatever I want and cut every day. It was easy because there are only 2 deans for 2000 students, and let's be real... The security really didn't do much. I made the decision of attending Jane Addams High School because I knew how strict they were and knew that only with discipline I would get my act together. There was plenty of other options that I had of schools but Jane Addams was my best choice. While I ve been at Jane Addams I have learned a lot of discipline. At JAHS there are no excuses. I really like the environment at Jane Addams. The school is so small everyone knows each other and there is no room for ditching class or hiding from staff. Being at JAHS definitely helped my biggest problem which was skipping class and never showing up to school. If I don't show up at JAHS it will not go unnoticed and will not be ignored! I thank the school for that because it has really helped me stop my laziness.

Jane Addams is a genuinely a great school to go to. It gives you an extra opportunity that not every school gives to make a change and focus on what you want to do in the future, making sure that your on the right path to do so.

Coming into Jane Addams, I didn t know what to expect but automatically starting my first day, I loved it already. The teachers and tutors are super helpful. I wasn t afraid to ask for help anymore and all the topics I didn t understand before, I mastered at Jane Addams. I swear I have learned so much in my life. What I like especially about JAHS is the safe and fun environment we have. And I say fun because the staff and teachers make you enjoy coming to school. JAHS sure is the perfect school for someone who is really looking to become someone in life and for someone who loves working for what you want.

Jane Addams has equipped me not only for college, but for life as a whole. It has prepared me academically and emotionally. It has also revealed and showed my true colors both good and bad, and helped me to recognize that I can change. There are aspects of my character that I have kept hidden for a long time. Jane Addams High School has helped me grow-up. I have been very successful at Jane Addams because the way the school is run has kept me from slacking in school and has kept me going in life. Another reason why Jane Addams made me successful is because the school is very organized. When I graduate from Jane Addams, I will leave knowing that I am part of a family. I know that I will always be welcome and that the staff will be there for me for the rest of my life.

I wasn't successful at Uno and I was behind almost a whole year. So I made the decision to transfer to Jane Addams. At Jane Addams I m more successful because they put me in the classes that are on my level. The teachers help me when I need it. I like how everyone communicates with each other and I like how the teachers bond with us students. I like how the teachers work with me on the level I am and help me when I need the help. The teachers don t let you move on forward until you understand what s going on. Jane Addams is a great fit for me.

I didn t like this school at first because of its size of student body, there are only about 200 students and the building is quite small as well. I ended up enjoying it because of the support staff and the teachers, especially Mrs. McDonald s class. I had her for health and she made the semester go by fast. I also like some of the support staff at Jane Addams, they are cool people to talk to. I am thankful to the staff and principal at JAHS for allowing me a second chance to finish my education and show my daughter what I am capable of.

CPS just wasn t for me. They had many substitutes, every time they were in class, we learned nothing. We were just given worksheets, that's it. It was so easy to just get passed. CPS teachers don t care. Looking back I m glad my parents transferred me to Jane Addams. Jane Addams completely changed my life in a great way. The staff and teachers are just really amazing people. Mr. Avila is one of the best math teachers I have ever had. He s really great at teaching his lessons, and honestly he s just someone you can talk to about anything. I ve built so many relationships with teachers that it s difficult for me to believe myself. I love being around the staff who care about me and my well-being. The Jane Addams environment is friendly as well as the staff and teachers. The principal is very kind and helpful. She sets the rules and codes that the staff and students follow. She makes sure our school runs smoothly and makes sure the staff and teachers have the passion to teach us. In my last school, I felt that no one really cared for me. I am so glad that I decided to leave my other school and come to Jane Addams. The staff, teachers, and students of JAHS have helped me along the way to become who I am today.

Before attending Jane Addams, I was at CPS for my freshman and sophomore year. I can honestly say, without a doubt, that CPS did absolutely nothing for me. My brother helped me make a big decision by leaving CPS and seeing how other schools would be beneficial for me. I thank him for that because now I m in JAHS which is an excellent school. Jane Addams High School is magnificent in every way. Jane Addams cares about everything I do. They are there to guide me and let me know that I m not alone and can be successful in every way. I have learned a lot from Jane Addams High School. I have learned how to accomplish my goals. Also, I have learned how to be responsible and take responsibility for every consequence in life. Jane Addams is all about how to be professional. When I graduate, I know I will apply everything I have learned at Jane Addams to my life.

Looking for a good honest plumber for Pilsen

Some friends of mine on 21st street are having a clogged toilet problem. Three-story house, it's a problem with the toilet on the second floor, only. Seems isolated to that stack. They need a good plumber, but obv. like everyone else, they're budget-minded folks.
