Criminal activity

Residents are not being notified of neighborhood criminal activity in a timely manner.
If residents and guests are not notified by the city or association management companies, the criminals are free to attack again until they are caught.
There must be a better notification system sent immediately once an attack is reported by a victim.

  • Jambo neighbor

South Loop Neighborhood Watch has an email sign up and also a Facebook page. They send out email notifications and you are also able to post suspicious activity.

I will look into each of these suggestions and register for important notifications. A repeat criminal, robber and sexual assaulter was roaming the south loop and ready to attack again. Fast work by the CPD got him arrested. Instead of attacking innocent people he'll spend the rest of his days in jail.

When I was asked a few months ago to participate in a short study that required monitoring the air quality on the street where I live, I was eager to please. Not only did I want to please the person who asked me to do it-Gail Merritt, who started Alliance for a Greener South Loop, always...

Underground Pedway

How safe is the underground pedway near the museums? I know there's an entrance near 1100 S. Columbus Drive near the Aquarium. Input greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Sheila A. Donovan Have been an owner at the Stratford since 2001.

I've used the underpass to the museum campus countless times without a problem. In fact, I've never heard of anyone having a problem there, though like anywhere there might have been a few incidents. I consider it to be quite safe.

  • Thanks so much, everyone! I thought it was going to be completely underground, but it ended up being an open underpass as folks have mentioned. I'm curious to try the actual underground Pedway. I guess I should explore one of these days!
