    CHICAGO (CBS) - Around 2,000 volunteers went to 70 sites near the Chicago River to help out in the annual spring cleanup effort. They removed plastic, cans, tires and other garbage from the river. "The Chicago River system has improved dramatically thanks, in part, to volunteers such as those who turned out today," said Margaret Frisbie, Executive Director of Friends of the Chicago River.

20 minutes after the robbers hit Bronzeville, Chicago Police say the same men may have hit another residential area near 15th Street and Clark Street in the South Loop, displaying a gun and robbing another man.

Officers say it happened just after 12 AM near 29th Street and Michigan Avenue. They say the men flashed a gun, attacked a man, and then went through his pockets before taking off in a 4-door hatchback.

    Chicago police on Wednesday released a surveillance photo of two men or teenage boys who robbed people at gunpoint in the South Loop and Bronzeville neighborhood early Tuesday. In the robberies, one of the attackers showed a silver and black semi-automatic handgun and the other man went through the victims' pockets and took property, according to a police alert.

A huge donation in honor of fallen Chicago Police Commander Paul Bauer for the organization's "Get Behind The Vest Program." Illinois pizza chain Aurelio's and former Chicago Blackhawks star Jeremy Roenick will present a check for $8,000 for 16 new bullet-proof vests.
