Man accused of strangling woman after dispute over 'open relationship'

Witnesses last saw the two leaving the witnesses’ home Feb. 8 to return to their apartment in the 1500 block of South Kolin Avenue. Once the two arrived, a verbal argument started over the other woman, prosecutors said.

    A man was charged with first-degree murder after officers conducted a well-being check on a West Side residence and found a 26-year-old woman naked with her head completely submerged in a bathtub, prosecutors said. Eddy Redmond, 32, and Danisha Thompson, 26, were involved in an open dating relationship with another person, prosecutors said at a bail hearing Thursday.

Police were called to the home in the 1500 block of South Kolin Avenue just before 11:45 a.m. after someone found the 26-year-old woman unresponsive and call 911, said Officer Thomas Sweeney, a police spokesman.
