On the Far South Side, two people were shot around 9:30 p.m. in the 13100 block of South Ellis Avenue in the Altgeld Gardens neighborhood. The shooting happened in the Altgeld Gardens and Phillip Murray Homes public housing complex.

The man was in a vehicle when he was shot by someone in another vehicle around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of South Clark Street on the Near South Side.
Around 1:35 p.m., a 19-year-old man was shot in the back by someone in a passing vehicle while he stood in the 3800 block of West Chicago Avenue in the West Side’s Humboldt Park neighborhood.
Around 1:25 a.m., a 29-year-old man was standing in his front yard in the 100 block of East 104th Street in the Far South Side’s Rosemoor neighborhood when someone in a black hooded sweatshirt approached and fired shots, police said.
Also in East Garfield Park, a 33-year-old man was shot in both legs while he was standing outside around 11:55 p.m. Tuesday in the 3500 block of West Huron Street. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in fair condition.
Around 11:05 p.m., a 20-year-old woman was shot twice in the leg when she was standing in the 7000 block of South Aberdeen Street in the South Side’s Englewood neighborhood, police said. She was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition.
The boys, 15 and 16, were in the 9900 block of South Parnell Avenue in the city’s Fernwood neighborhood about 10:35 a.m. when someone shot them, police said.
He was stabbed in his right leg as he tried to detain a 38-year-old man suspected of shoplifting at about 3:40 p.m. in the 1200 block of West 79th Street in the Gresham neighborhood, according to Chicago police. A Walgreens is listed at the address.
