5 teenage boys charged in cellphone store robberies

Three of the juveniles were caught shortly after 1:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of South Jefferson Street, and two were arrested about the same time in the 500 block of West 14th Place, police said.

Shortly before 4 p.m. Jan. 3, robbers entered a cellphone store in the 1800 block of West Division Street and removed merchandise from a display. During that robbery a 26-year-old man was stabbed in the chest and taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
