    Chicago police issued an alert Thursday warning of a man driving a white van who tried to lure an 11-year-old girl in the West Pullman neighborhood. About 3:15 p.m. Tuesday on the Far South Side, a man driving a white van in the 11900 block of South Normal Avenue attempted to abduct a girl who was walking home from school, police said.

2 killed in South Side shooting mark first shooting deaths in 7 days

Kendrick L. Williams, 26, was found dead around 10:40 a.m. in the 11900 block of South Harvard Avenue in the West Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side. The Cook County medical examiner’s office ruled the death a homicide.

The men were sitting in a vehicle around 2:50 a.m. in the 6600 block of South Evans Avenue in the West Woodlawn neighborhood when someone pulled up in a vehicle and fired shots, Chicago police said.

Both were shot shortly before 7 p.m. in the 4600 block of North Central Park Avenue in the city’s Albany Park neighborhood.

The last shooting death happened on Jan. 11. Uriah Hughes, 32, was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital after he was shot while getting in a vehicle in the 5300 block of Race Avenue in the South Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

Man found dead in West Pullman is identified

Williams lived in the 300 block of East 36th Street in the Bronzeville neighborhood, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He was pronounced dead at the scene in the 11900 block of South Harvard Avenue at 11:03 a.m.

It wasn’t immediately known what happened to the man, but authorities said they responded to a call for a medical emergency after a man was found outside, unresponsive, in the 11900 block of South Harvard Avenue on the Far South Side.
