A memorial service is set for 2 p.m. June 9 at Christ Universal Temple at 11901 S. Ashland Ave., Chicago.

    Lewis Myers Jr., a Chicago civil rights attorney who represented people from all walks of life, died of complications from heart surgery on May 24 in Northwestern Memorial Hospital, according to colleagues. Myers, 70, a Houston native who held a leadership position with the NAACP as a teenager, moved to Chicago in 1980 to represent inmates accused of murder during a prison riot.
