About 12:55 a.m., the men were standing outside in the 6800 block of South Morgan Street when shots fired from a car driving by hit them both, police said.

On the West Side, a 17-year-old boy was shot in both knees and his left ankle just before 11:45 p.m. Thursday in the 5100 block of West Chicago Avenue in South Austin. He’d been walking with another male, who shot him with a handgun, police said.

The three gunshots were heard about a quarter mile away in the 1000 block of North Lockwood, where police were investigating an earlier shooting that injured two, a 51-year-old woman...

Just before 11:15 p.m. in the 11600 block of South State Street, a 19-year-old man was shot in his abdomen while sitting on his porch. Police said the shots were fired from inside a gray Dodge Avenger that drove by. He was taken to Advocate Crhist Medical Center in serious condition.

A 17-year-old boy was shot in his lower back about 5:35 p.m. Thursday while he as sitting outside in the 8800 block of South Marquette Boulevard. A dark vehicle drove past and someone inside fired, police said. He was taken to University of Chicago Hospital, and was stable, police said.

"I told him," the man cried. "I told him to come out." Another man walked out of the emergency room, talking loudly into his phone.
