    CHICAGO -- The family of an elderly woman found dead on the Far South Side is offering a reward for information. 81-year-old Thana Muhammad was found dead on Sunday at her home near 100th and Forest Avenue in Rosemoor. Her family says her body had been dismembered and placed in storage bins.

    CHICAGO -- Police are investigating the death of an 81-year-old woman on the South Side as a homicide. The woman was found with severe injuries just before noon Sunday at a home near 100th and Forest Avenue in the city's Rosemoor neighborhood. She was pronounced dead about an hour later.

The Chicago Fund for Safe and Peaceful Communities has awarded AWOFINC a 2018 grant, one of 132 rapid-response grants to support activities that promote safe and peaceful conditions in 19 prioritized Chicago communities. AWOFINC's Parent Information & Resources, Violence Prevention Consortium and Youth Leadership & Development initiatives seek to identify and establish Community-Based Participatory Partnerships with groups and organizations. The consortium will be actively engaging multiple communities.
