  • Fallon Flowers Grew up in Marynook & now in West Chesterfield

    Due next Thursday! They will be able to choose from seven different schools throughout the nation for nursing of the 11 total for all types of Health Professions. This program is unique because most of these type of programs are for a high school students. Now college students actually get a chance! Pass the word on!

According to their Twitter page: "Block Club Chicago is a nonprofit neighborhood news site started by former editors and reporters at DNAinfo Chicago."

They intend to launch their digital-first website in April 2018, of the diverse areas of Chicago.

They recently went to Kickstarter PBC, a funding platform where they have raised  $117,872 pledged of $25,000 from a total of 1,957 backers to date. They have 27days to go for their funding goals.

National Black Nurse's Day 30th Anniversary

National Black Nurses Day (NBND) is a long-held is a celebration that recognizes the service of outstanding African American Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Registered Nurses (RNs) for the work that they provide to the community.

This year is the 30th NBND Anniversary celebration! It will highlight the achievements of professional nurses in the area of community health, public health, correctional health, transplantation and healthcare advocacy.

National Black Nurses Day (NBND) is a long-held is a celebration that recognizes the service of outstanding African American Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Registered Nurses (RNs) for the work that they provide to the community.

This year is the 30th NBND Anniversary celebration! It will highlight the achievements of professional nurses in the area of community health, public health, correctional health, transplantation and healthcare advocacy.

Friends and family of nurses recognized, Nursing colleagues, nursing instructors, student nurses and the community at large are all invited to attend this event.

Since 1988, National Black Nurses Day has been recognized by the United States Congress on the first Friday in the month of February. This was made possible with the instrumental assistance of the Honorable Charles Rangel of New York, ensuring the acknowledgement of contributions Black Nurses and their contributions to healthcare and society.

Chicago, IL | Founded in 2017, NursingInspired is a mentorship and educational program for ethnically underrepresented moreover African American youth high school students & young adults that seek to pursue a higher education & nursing career. 👧🏿👦🏿👧🏾👦🏾👧🏽👦🏽🙄💭👩🏾‍⚕️👨🏾‍⚕️

I am currently working with several young adults that are taking their prerequisites. The goal is to guide them with individualized preparatory "care plans" in their nursing school applications as well as group educational sessions.

In time, I seek to reach out to collaborate with various African American youth organizations and schools throughout the Southside of Chicago with educational programs, events and exposure to area nursing schools and organizations.
