Police responded to the 5800 block of South Sawyer Avenue around 1 p.m., where 47-year-old Reynaldo Trevino was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was pronounced dead at 1:24 p.m. on the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Trevino lived in the 3000 block of West 41st Place. Although he died Friday, the incident was not determined to be a homicide by the medical examiner’s office until Wednesday.

    The death of a man Friday afternoon in the Gage Park neighborhood has been ruled a homicide by authorities. Police responded to the 5800 block of South Sawyer Avenue around 1 p.m., where 47-year-old Reynaldo Trevino was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was pronounced dead at 1:24 p.m.
