James Banks, Jr., 43, of the 8200 block of S. Winchester Ave., was charged Monday at 11:30 p.m. with one count of first degree murder in the death of Clifford Evans March 24, police said.
Evans, 35, was shot at 3:05 a.m. at 1140 W. 103rd St., police said. Friends of Evans drove him to Roseland Community Hospital.
Authorities received information that Banks, who was the subject of an active investigative alert for homicide, was going to be at the Gold Post Lounge, 501 E. 71st Street, according to a police report.
