Cheryl Pope's Broadway Armory installation, "Here I AM", and Edgewater Beach artist Erik Peterson's sculpture "Ashland", are new, significant pieces of northside art by two of Chicago's finest artists. The 48th Ward joins its 49th Ward neighbor to the north with its Mile of Murals, and the 46th Ward to the south with the new “Arpeggio” by Sri Lankan-British artist Cecil Balmond, in presenting important art by important artists. http://48thward.org/public-art-in-the-48th-ward/

What about your big scoop you were going to share on one of your Facebook pages about the exciting new business near Sheridan and Argyle in Osterman's ward?

I'll post the minutes from the meeting on the Sheridan Park Neighbors Facebook page if it's inappropriate for EB.

I can reach more locals that way anyhow. People should know when public officials squander or otherwise misappropriate public funds for a public art project.

It only happens in the 46th ward, a recurring theme. Never happens in other wards I am familiar like the 48th, 49th, 44th,or 45th.

  • RacineSteve

Care to share other times the 46th ward office failed to pay an artist? Could this whole "situation" also be due to the fact that CPL is dragging their feet on paying the muralist after receiving the funds from Cappleman's office? Of course not. You have a narrative to stick to.

  • Jeffrey Littleton If you can't be a poet, be the poem.

Yes I will share it all on SPN.

The library was never part of the financial arrangement. Thank you for your interest and enthusiasm.

  • Jeffrey Littleton If you can't be a poet, be the poem.

It will be shared on a post, which cannot be hassled and buried by an excited few on EB, which will then be shared widely, so many will know.

Maybe you will learn something, stay tuned.

  • RacineSteve

Can't wait! This should draw 3 or 4 additional people to your Facebook page. Which of your 5 pages will this be shared on?

  • Jeffrey Littleton If you can't be a poet, be the poem.

    Don't worry about it.
